As a clinical metabolism specialist with expertise in neuroscience and oncology, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge that I can bring to any research institute focused on metabolism.
My interest in metabolic health, particularly in neuroscience and oncology, began during my time as a research neurosurgeon after I graduated from the School of Medicine at Alexandria University in Egypt. I spent five years learning about neuroscience from a surgical perspective, but a patient&#8217;s experience with drug refractory epilepsy led me to explore the impact of metabolic ketogenic therapy on epilepsy treatment.
I pursued this topic further by enrolling in an overseas training program in ketogenic diet in epilepsy at Johns Hopkins University, which led me to shift my focus to clinical metabolism. My personal experiences, including my mother&#8217;s tragic death from mitochondrial encephalopathy and my passion for clinical applied biochemistry, have also driven me to pursue this field of study.
Over the years, I have studied cancer metabolism, clinical applied biochemistry, epigenetics, and oxidative stress therapies, earning multiple postgraduate diplomas and master&#8217;s degrees in these fields. My primary focus has been on translating scientific research into clinical practices that can help patients with neurological disorders, cancer, and metabolic syndrome.
I have opened a metabolic therapy clinic in Alexandria, treating patients with neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders, cancer, and metabolic 
syndrome. As a senior researcher at the Egyptian Foundation for Cancer Metabolic Research Science, established in 2019, I have conducted cell culture studies to evaluate the role of most nanoparticle phytochemicals in cancer metabolism, particularly denovo cell death mechanisms known as Ferroptosis. I have discovered denovo nano-fabricated ferroptotic inducers, which act as a press mechanism with pulsed ketogenic therapy.
In 2020, I established the first metabolic center for cancer in Cairo and earned the position of clinical director, successfully treating numerous cancer patients with standard care. The center provides metabolic strategies, including dietary, off-label metabolic targeted drugs, photodynamic and sonodynamic therapy, metabolic pathway targeted phytochemical cocktails, HBOT, and ozone therapy.
In the same year, I established my drug delivery and phytochemical extraction lab, which has enabled me to develop new therapeutic strategies to block cancer metabolic pathways and develop safe, economic, and effective oral photosensitizers. However, the current financial burden and the impact of the epidemic have made it challenging to fund my projects and continue my research.
