<p>Dr. Joseph Musto is the President, Director of Laboratory Medicine, and Founder of Microbiology Dx, with over 50 years of experience in clinical laboratory science and test development. He previously served as the Medical Director and Founder of Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine for over 20 years. Dr. Musto holds advanced degrees in Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry and is a Board-Certified Clinical Laboratory Director. He has published more than 20 papers, co-authored seven patents, and developed innovative clinical assays and diagnostic methods, including significant contributions to the Dr. Shoemaker protocol for biotoxin illness.</p>
<p>Throughout his career, Dr. Musto has held academic positions, including Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and has served as a consultant and team leader for numerous clinical laboratories and accreditation inspections. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry and the Association of Clinical Scientists and remains active in continuing medical education. His work includes advancements in the treatment of nasal MARCoNS and biofilm infections related to chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS).
