<p>Pepper Schwartz, PhD is Professor Emeritus of Sociology , University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She received her PhD from Yale University and has received many awards for her work on human sexuality and intimate relationships. Among them, the American Sociological Association&#8217;s award for Public Understanding of Sociology, The Simon Gagnon award for work in Sexualities, the Pepper Schwartz Professorship on Sexuality and Aging and the University of Minnesota medical school, the Matrix Award, Mother&#8217;s Voices award, The Distinguished Alumni award from Washington University in St. Louis. She is the author of 26 books , among them two New York Times best sellers, American Couples, and The Normal Bar: the Surprising Secrets of Happy Couples. She presently serves on the board of the Eli Coleman Institute on Gener and Sexuality and is an on air expert for the Lifetime television program, Married at First Sight.</p>
