Dr. Fisher is currently serving as a Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs Specialty Pharma Division of Amneal Pharmaceuticals. In his role he built a large group of med affairs professionals with expertise in neuroscience in preparation to the new product lunch and to support existing products. Dr. Fisher continues to hold appointments as an Adjunct Professor of Neurology at the Rutgers RW Johnson Medical School and Weill Cornell Medical School. He maintains active medical licenses in NJ, Missouri, and Texas. Dr. Fisher is a Fellow of American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and of American Neurological Association (ANA). He was instrumental in creating and has served first as Vice President and then as a President of the Kansas City Clinical Neuroscience Society as well as a board member of Missouri/Kansas Neurological Society. He has recently served as Vice Chair of the Neural Repair and Rehabilitation Section of AAN.
Dr. Fisher was involved in clinical research related to psychosis and emotional lability in patients with neurodegenerative disorders. For the last three years he was serving as a Medical Director for four Silverado Memory Care communities in Houston. During his tenure in Houston, Dr. Fisher conducted sponsored and investigator-initiated trials in the field of Parkinson Disease, stroke, spinal cord injury and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Fisher is invited to lecture nationally and internationally on the topics of Parkinson disease, spasticity, and the use of implantable and robotically assisted devices for the treatment of the wide variety of neurological diseases. Dr. Fisher has a strong interest in the field of Targeted Drug Delivery and chaired an annual conference on the role of targeted drug delivery in the treatment of pain and neurological diseases. Dr. Fisher was the first neurologist in the United States to implant Medstream Intrathecal Drug Delivery System and was a main investigator for this device. Dr. Fisher very frequently spoke to patient support groups around the country to educate and encourage people with chronic neurodegenerative diseases.
