Yusuf (JP) Saleeby, MD is a graduate from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia and completed post-graduate training at East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. He pursued a career in emergency medicine (EM) for almost two decades. During his career in medicine he held posts in occupational medicine (DOD) and Urgent Care and Family Medicine. Currently, he practices Integrative &amp; Functional Medicine at Carolina Holistic Medicine with sites in the Southeastern USA.
Retiring from the Emergency Department in 2013, and after serving as past medical director for the South Carolina Urban Search &amp; Rescue Task Force-1, his focus is now exclusively on Functional Medicine, research and development of healthcare delivery models, and nutraceutical formulations. He is a member of ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society), an organization that understands and treats Lyme disease and associated tick-borne chronic illness. He has also an active member of IFM (Institute for Functional Medicine), AARM and ISEAI, and has been a member of A4M, ACAM and the American Telehealth Association in the past.
Dr. Saleeby has been on the medical advisory board for the Aerobic &amp; Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Beachbody (P90X, Shakeology) in the past and currently sits on the UK’s LDN Research Trust board. During the past decade, he has formulated original sports enhancement supplements for several privately held companies. He also created and developed a direct access lab testing site for the general public (eStatLabs.com) and co-founded Zimetry.com. He is also in alliance with FLCCC (advocates for early COVID-19 treatments) and has worked on the subcommittee for vaccine injury protocols. He founded the Priority Health Academy (501(c)3 non-profit) in 2018 and directs annual conferences and educational events.
In 2006 Dr. Saleeby authored a book on specialty medicinal herbs entitled: “Wonder Herbs: A Guide to Three Adaptogens” (Xlibris, 2006) and is a featured speaker on nutrition and adaptogen herbs in the region and nationally. He has been a contributing editor for American Fitness magazine for many years and has contributed a chapter in the Life Extension Foundation’s 5th &amp; 6th Edition &#8220;Disease Prevention &amp; Treatment&#8221; tome (2013). Dr. Saleeby authored a chapter in a book on Hypothyroidism &#8220;Stop the Thyroid Madness, II&#8221; (2014). Most recently he authored a chapter on longevity in the 2022 book “The LDN Book, vol 3”.
Dr. Saleeby also received his Press Credentials as a journalist/writer for AMD in early 2013. In 2016, he was one of the founding members of the Myrtle Beach Vistage group and this organization became instrumental in expanding his newly developed micro-office medical practice model and currently works with TAB. He is working on a new project to curate a sustainable parallel healthcare delivery model replete with newer FxMed paradigm (Priority-Health.us)
As a medical historian, with an interest in the American Civil War ear, (a member of the Society of Civil War Surgeons, and National Museum of Civil War Medicine), it gives him the opportunity to lectures on medicine &amp; surgery during the War between the States and physician luminaries of the time. He lectures on Dr. Hunter H. McGuire (CSA), Dr. Simon Baruch (CSA), Dr. Joseph Letterman (USA), Dr. Frances P. Porcher (CSA) &amp; Gen. William A. Hammond, MD (USA). Dr. Saleeby has a collection of medical antiques and books dating c.100 AD through the mid-1950’s on display at both his SC offices.
A competitive swimmer in college, he tried his hand at Luge in Lake Placid, NY under the coaching of US National Team athletes for a couple of years; he enjoyed several years training with Team Savannah Olympic Lifting team and competed in State &amp; National Masters Olympic Style Weightlifting &amp; the Georgia Olympic Games in the mid-2000’s, achieving podium finishes. He had the opportunity to oar (row) a Greek Trireme (replica of a 120-foot ancient warship) on the Aegean Sea and on the Thames River in London in the early 1990&#8217;s as part of an American contingent of rowers; he also served as the crew’s assistant medical officer. He enjoys his patients as a advocate for them and practice of integrative medicine, educating them to be self-reliant so as to enjoy many healthy disease-free years. He is married and resides in Charleston, SC
