What Causes Lyme Disease? 4 Root Causes and Conditions of This Debilitating Chronic Illness
Lyme Disease is one of the most prevalent chronic illnesses in the US. According to the CDC, there are 30,000 reported cases of Lyme every year, and this doesn’t even account for the huge amount of cases that go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.
Chronic illnesses like Lyme Disease are on the rise, and many people find themselves wondering what causes Lyme Disease, how to prevent contracting it, and how to overcome it.
In their virtual summit, Dr. Christine Schaffner (N.D.) and Robby Besner (PSc.D.) discuss common root causes ogcauses Lyme Disease. Near the end of the video, Dr. Schaffner shares how she helps patients reverse their symptoms.
#1: Environmental Toxins Exacerbate Lyme Disease
When it comes to health and disease, most people focus heavily on what they’re putting into their bodies. It’s important to focus on giving the body the food, hydration, vitamins, and minerals it needs to function and thrive. Unfortunately, most people don’t consider environmental factors.
Environmental toxins, such as mycotoxins, weaken the immune system, disrupt the gut microbiome, and wreck the entire body. Doctors have found a massive correlation between chronic illnesses and environmental toxins.
The problem is that toxins are found everywhere, from the air we breathe to beauty products to the plastic containers we use. With these toxins bombarding our bodies from all sides, it’s no wonder our immune systems can’t keep up!
With weakened immune systems, imbalanced gut bacteria, and inflamed tissue, the body isn’t prepared to fight against diseased bacteria. When Lyme invades, the body is unable to fight back to full capacity.
The good news is, there’s a lot that can be done to detox the body and strengthen it against further exposure to toxins. This is part of how Dr. Schaffner helps her patients reverse Lyme Disease.
#2: Reverse Lyme Disease by Resetting the Body’s Natural Frequencies
Our bodies are more than physical entities. In the What Causes Lyme Disease summit, Dr. Schaffner talks about the electrical and magnetic fields that course through our bodies and help our various systems communicate with one another.
The heart operates at a natural rhythm, which keeps our body’s electrical and magnetic fields in proper balance and communication. It specifically communicates with our brainwaves. But this natural heart rhythm can be disrupted thanks to disruptions, such as trauma.
This heart-centered approach to medicine has been around for centuries, but thanks to advanced technology, scientists are able to gather hard data to support the importance of regular heart frequencies.
Every part of the body operates under an ideal frequency, but these often become out of whack due to toxins, trauma, poor diet, and lifestyle habits. Dr. Schaffner helps her patients make better habits, detox, and support the body’s healing power to allow these frequencies to get back in balance.
Healing from chronic illnesses such as Lyme disease is a frustrating, sometimes hopeless process. Patients may feel like they’re doing “all the right things” and still not getting better. Fatigue, digestive issues, headaches… what is the solution? Researchers are discovering that many syptoms may be due to hidden “inhibitors” that stop the body from healing and may be making things worse. These inhibitors stop the body’s natural energy flow and systems to rid itself of infection and disease.
For example, Dr. Schaffner always examines if a patient has a root canal. With the constant source of heavy metals such as mercury, the body is always playing “catch up” to try and reduce inflammation and fight disease. She calls this the “dental interference field,” which stops the lymphatic system from draining and filtering toxins out of the body.
Scar tissues, such as those after surgery, are another major inhibitor that prevent the body’s ability to heal. With these inhibitors completely removed or reduced, the body is finally able to get on top of and rid the body of disease.
Dr. Schaffner works with patients to help them soften connective tissue and rejuvenate blood flow to flush out toxins from an inhibitor or scar tissue. This unlocks the body’s ability to communicate properly and heal itself.
#4 The Lymphatic System Purges Lyme Disease from the Body
Our bodies are designed to defend against invading diseases and infections. If anything makes it past these defenses, the body kicks in with a drainage system that flushes out unwanted substances. The Lymphatic system, a series of interconnected lymph nodes throughout the body, help with this process.
It’s important for doctors like Dr. Schaffner to make sure their patients’ bodies are flowing properly. This means they’re breathing normally, sweating regularly, staying hydrated, and have normal bowel movements.
Sometimes Dr. Schaffner uses binders to help chronic illness patients get flushed out. These binders attach themselves to unwanted toxins and chemicals and are then cleared out of the body. This method of optimizing the Lymphatic slow system has been successful for Dr. Schaffner, and it’s a sustainable way of ridding the body of unwanted substances so it can start healing.

Robby Besner PSc.D.
Hey, everybody. Welcome back to another amazing interview, but this one’s gonna knock you out because today I have the princess of princesses, I should say the queen, Dr. Christine Schaffner. And she’s not only becoming a favorite on my hit list, but she’s also the co-host of our summit. Now Christine has been around the world and back, and she has incredible practice and a diverse way of looking at the world, which I find really exciting. I’m hoping in the short time we have together that she can actually share some of the insights as to, like the rudimentary, some of the pillars of what works for her.
She’s a star in interviews. She’s been on many, many of these podcasts. She has her own podcast. That’s truly amazing. And she’s done a lot of these summits. She’s created some amazing health modalities and she’s interacted them to create what’s called synergy, which is like the better of like two and two equals four, no, two and two in Dr. Christine’s world, is probably six or eight. That’s how amazing the work that she’s doing. Christine, welcome to the summit. And thank you so much for carving out some time in your busy day to share some of your own unique approaches to the world, to everybody out there. So thank you for joining us today.
