The Importance Of Supplementation

Yeah, absolutely. So I’ve been working with BioPure for 11 years and really relying heavily on their products for a lot of my protocols. And so I’ve gotten to know and love and trust their formulas, and they source very well. And they, you know, I think what stands apart, is when you’re strictly with Lyme or a chronic infection or environmental toxicity, it’s all about getting the right medicine to the right area of the body with the right support at the right time. And I find that liposomal technology is a really great way to enhance the efficacy and the delivery of even botanical medicine, especially. 

So liposomal formulas are formulas that are combined with phosphatidylcholine, and phosphatidylcholine is an essential fat. Our cell membranes are made up of phosphatidylcholine, our nervous system, our brain. And phosphatidylcholine, when you combine herbs with phosphatidylcholine and you take them orally, you get a direct delivery in the mouth that starts to get absorbed into the lymphatics, and you also bypass a lot of the digestion that you don’t have to wait until all of the botanicals are in the digestive tract for absorption. And so it’s quicker delivery, it’s gonna get more deep into the system, and then phosphatidylcholine also and liposomal formulas are lipophilic, meaning that they can be delivered in fat-soluble tissue. So many of these chronic infections are inside the cell, right? So you have to cross over the cell membrane or in the neuron, so you gotta get into the neuron or in the brain, and you have to go into the, you know, cross over the blood-brain barrier. So these are kind of a Trojan horse type of delivery system to get these botanicals into the areas where these infections hangout and reside.

Yeah, you know, I wasn’t thinking about Trojan horse, but I actually think that that’s a better analogy. I was thinking more like a bullet train–

Yeah.

Because when you take something orally, you gotta digest it. If it’s in a pill form there’s excipients, which is like, it’s kind of like glue that keeps the pill together, or even a veggie cap, you have to dissolve that, it has to go through the liver, so you don’t quite get as much of the substrate or the formulation into your cell, into your tissues where you want it to be. And so the idea that you could use this other delivery system, which is something that’s bioidentical, meaning your body’s made up of fat cells, and now you’ve got a shuttle train or a bullet train or a delivery system that is sort of an extraction of a fat cell, and you’re using an organic material that’s comes from a plant or from, yeah, I guess it would be a plant or a flower, right?

In the formulation, and so now you’re using nature and using a natural delivery system so the body is kind of in sync. Seems to me like a, as they say in Texas, a chicken winner dinner. So there’s on there. But I do believe that it’s a better way to get things or nutrients into the body, into the bloodstream and ultimately in the tissue and cell, so that’s the end game. And BioPure, they do a whole bunch of different levels of supplementation, and so we’ve got a delivery system, and now we have a whole array of different I guess supplements of sort that they put into this delivery system that help you get it into your body. Amazing, right? Name one of your favorites or two of the favorites ones that you think a Lyme patient could benefit from?

Yeah, there are two in the line that I often use. One is called the BioPure CockTail, and many of you who know Stephen Buhner, who wrote fabulous, amazing books that are geared on the botanical treatment of Lyme disease, he rattles off a number that are quite effective for Borrelia and co-infections, and so the BioPure CockTail has a number of what we call the Buhner herbs in this formula. And so many of my patients who have Lyme will take this formula. And so we use BioPure CockTail a lot, and then we also use a newer formula called BioPure Vital-9, and it’s targeted more to viruses and to also support your immune system against viruses. 

So often when we’re treating Lyme and co-infections, we’re also treating what we would say the ecosystem, in that we’re treating viruses and even retroviral activation, parasitic infections, mold, yeast, fungal infections. So why I also love herbal medicine is that even though some herbs, like artemesia or propolis or some of these broad spectrum herbs, yes, so they have an affinity for certain specific strains of co-infections, but they also can treat these other things. So we’re doing a couple things at once, but I like BioPure CockTail as a staple Lyme formula, and I like BioPure Vital-9 as a staple viral support formula.

Cool. So you’re using them in practice, and you see a lot–

And there’s a real expectation that if it’s used properly at the right time, that it really can make a big difference in your health journey and how quickly your body responds. And I think that’s really important for people to know, because these aren’t really ultra-expensive formulations. It’s not like you have to remortgage your home to get some of these supplements and use them in the proper way. And so, number one, thank you for being part of BioPure’s process, because you really elevate the spin with your own approach, and particularly as it applies to the Lyme community. And all the families of co-infections and other microbes that all hang out together, you’re looking at not just isolating Lyme and/or a co-infection with a very specific formulation. 

You’re looking at treating my body and letting my body be more discerning, ’cause we’ve got way more information and may way more systems, some that we know about in science and things that we’re just learning to understand now. So why not recruit the body to be the master doctor sort of to put this all together, but we do need help, and BioPure is certainly a company that will get you on track with its approaches and its supplements and the delivery system. 

So this is pretty amazing. I love the fact that you’ve got two that you love, and I love the fact that you love this liposomal approach because of all the formulations that I’ve taken and delivery systems, that’s one of my favorite ways to get things directly into my bloodstream that’s non-invasive, because IV therapy goes right to the source, right into your blood. But if that’s invasive, sometimes it takes three to four hours before you can get a drip completely into your body. But the idea that you can do something orally or even topographically that allows your skin to absorb or your saliva or part of the digestive tract to actually help shuttle these formulations into your body is terrific. So thank you for that contribution, and certainly to what you do to make BioPure even greater than it is. So how do people find BioPure products, anyway?
