Steroid Creams to Eczema-Free in 3 Months- Safina’s Story

A past practitioner had Rupen and Seema stop Safina's cream cold turkey, and her skin rebounded hard. With the Eczema Elimination Method, we cut the cream to evenings only, on her worst patches, and tapered it over a couple of weeks with topical support and a nightly bath. They would drop a single food for a week, or add a supplement they had read about, see a little improvement, and lose it again. What moved things was the personalized plan I built for Safina, which covered food, supplements, the home, and her skin together instead of one experiment at a time. In the first couple of weeks, Safina's skin started shedding, and her parents texted me to ask if that was okay. Next came the quiet moments: pulling her leggings down in the bathroom, sitting down to dinner, and bracing for scratching that never came.

Childhood, Psychedelics, and the Brain’s Windows for Learning

Alison Gopnik describes a young child's attention as a lantern that lights up everything around it, and an adult's as a spotlight aimed at the task in front of it. Childhood is the brain's long season of exploration, gathering information before adulthood narrows its focus. Critical periods are the stretches when a developing brain is unusually open to learning. Dr. Gül Dölen's animal research suggests some psychedelics can reopen a version of that openness in adult brains for a limited time, and we talk about how closely it resembles the exploratory state Gopnik describes in children. A brain open to change is also more vulnerable to what it meets. Simi argues that preparation and integration matter more than the medicine itself, and Alya listens for a patient's sense of agency before anything else.
