Dr Shandles graduated the Temple University College of Podiatric Medicine in 1977 and completed residency at the Oxford Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania Sports Medicine Center in 1979.

His primary clinical research.hss been in curing pain in the feet, ankles, and legs, using a combination of a proprietary injection enhanced by the use of PEMF. 317 cases were followed for 10 years and 95% were cured of pain without surgery permanently, but 5% required surgery. Subsequent enhanced PEMF technology increased the cure rate to 99.9%., all published in a peer review journal.
