<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Dr. James Fricton is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota in the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Public Health and Senior Research Investigator for HealthPartners Institute. He has 35 years of full-time experience in clinical care, research, and teaching in with a focus on the field of chronic pain and more recently preventing chronic pain and addiction with research funding from National Institute of Health and other sponsors. He has developed and tested the Personalized Activated Care and Training (PACT) program to help providers implement patient centered care in routine care to prevent chronic pain and addiction. He also developed a Massive Open Online Course titled Preventing Chronic Pain: A Human Systems Approach at www.coursera.org. which has had over 60,000 participants from 176 different countries.</span></p>
