About Expert
Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner
Specialty: Endocrinology
I have worked in endocrinology as a Nurse Practitioner for more than five years, specializing in Type 2 diabetes, hypercortisolism/Cushing syndrome, and weight management. My passion lies not only in treating disease, but in helping patients truly understand it. I believe that education is one of the most powerful tools in medicine, and I focus heavily on helping patients understand the why behind their diagnosis, symptoms, medications, and lifestyle recommendations.
My approach centers on identifying the habits, physiologic drivers, and underlying factors contributing to disease—and empowering patients with practical, sustainable strategies to improve their health. I have found that when patients understand why their body is responding the way it is and why certain changes matter, they are far more successful in reaching their goals and sustaining long-term results.
My healthcare journey began at age 16 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). From there, I worked my way through every level of nursing—becoming an LPN, RN, and ultimately a Nurse Practitioner. This path has given me a uniquely comprehensive understanding of patient care and the healthcare system from every angle.
Before specializing in endocrinology, I gained extensive experience across high-acuity environments including the Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), and step-down care. I also served in leadership and mentorship roles as a charge nurse and became a trusted resource for training students, new graduates, and newly hired staff.
What makes me unique is my ability to combine deep clinical expertise with patient education, behavior change, and real-world practicality. I strive to meet patients where they are, simplify complex medical concepts, and help them build sustainable habits that improve not only lab values—but quality of life. My goal is to ensure patients feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their health journey.
