Dr. Saloumeh DeGood is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, researcher, and wellness educator with over two decades of experience at the intersection of psychology, healthcare systems, and professional education. Her work addresses a question that clinical training rarely asks: what allows a person to sustain themselves in a demanding career over time?
She works with hospitals and healthcare organizations to prevent burnout and build the internal capacities that allow clinicians, residents, administrators, and support staff to stay regulated, connected to their work, and effective over the long term. This is not crisis intervention, it is preventative psychology, addressing burnout structurally and organizationally before it becomes entrenched.
Dr. Saloumeh is the founder of Sufi Psychology Association’s Caring 4 Our Caregivers initiative, which supported over 360 hospitals across four countries during COVID-19. In National Hospital Week 2025 alone, she delivered 17 workshops across 12 hospital systems including Banner Health, HonorHealth, and Valleywise Health. She is a recurring presenter for the Illinois Hospital Association and has worked with organizations including Ascension Healthcare, OSF HealthCare, and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy and the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, and she is a recipient of a competitive Templeton Foundation research grant. She has also authored chapters in both nursing and psychology textbooks, taught at the university level, and presented at the World Congress of Psychotherapy at UNESCO in Paris.
Dr. Saloumeh has been featured on BBC Radio, FOX Good Day Chicago, NBC 5, ABC 15 Arizona, CBS Chicago, and in the Chicago Tribune and Healthline. She was honored with the NBC5 Making a Difference Award.
