Kidney disease, or renal disease, refers to conditions that impair the normal functioning of the kidneys. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive condition in which the kidneys lose their ability to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood effectively. It can lead to complications such as high blood pressure, anemia, and bone disorders. Early detection and management, including dietary changes, medications, and dialysis or kidney transplant when necessary, are crucial in slowing disease progression and maintaining kidney function.
