Limbic System

The limbic system is a complex network of brain structures involved in various functions related to emotions, motivation, memory, and learning. It includes several key components such as the amygdala, hippocampus, hypothalamus, and thalamus. The limbic system plays a vital role in processing and regulating emotions, forming memories, and influencing behaviors related to survival, reproduction, and other basic instincts. Dysfunction in the limbic system has been associated with mood disorders, memory impairments, and emotional disturbances.
