Dr. Paul Barattiero is the founder of Synergy Science. In this talk, he will discuss how to protect yourself from EMF waves and also the health benefits of hydrogen water.

Is hydrogen the most common element in the world?

Hydrogen is a common element because it’s the building block of everything. When we look at the body, it’s made up of carbon hydrogen chains. Hydrogen is part of HCL, the acid in our stomach. Because it’s so prevalent, hydrogen is critical to good health. Drinking hydrogen water, therefore, can help your body function as it should.

Our bodies are supposed to produce hydrogen naturally through the fermentation, or digestion, in our gastrointestinal tract. Your body should be producing 10 to 12 liters of hydrogen gas per day through your normal diet. But in order for that to happen, you need to have anaerobic microflora in your gut, particularly a strain of bacteria called hydrogenotrophs.

Those hydrogenotrophs will convert short chain fatty acids, medium chain fatty acids and fiber into hydrogen gas. That causes flatulence, which is a normal, expected result of consuming food. One of the gases produced in flatulence is hydrogen. While oxygen is an oxidizer, hydrogen is a reducer of oxidation in the body.

Hydrogen Water for Health

The way that the body naturally keeps oxidation at a normal level is through the use of hydrogen. Drinking hydrogen water ensures that your body has the hydrogen it needs for this regulation.

Through 1,025 studies and years of research, it was discovered that hydrogen is a signal modulator as well, meaning not only do we need the gas in the body to reduce free radicals, oxygen radicals like superoxide or hydroxyl radicals, but to send the right messages to many different pathways. In fact, there are over 200 biomolecules in the body that are regulated by hydrogen, including ghrelin secretions that go to the hippocampus, the hypothalamus and the brainstem for cognitive increase, neurologic protection, or assisting in HCL production.

Barattiero says he finds it mind-blowing how many systems hydrogen is responsible for regulating or modulating. Hydrogen is critical to health and critical to life, he says. So, drinking hydrogen water benefits health in myriad ways.

Eating foods that contain pesticides or heavy metals, overusing antibiotics, or having large amounts of stress in your life can disrupt the biome in the gut. this changes the polarity of the tissue in the gut, which causes the anaerobic microflora to no longer want to live in the gut. When these anaerobic microflora vacate the gut, imbalances occur. Then, you aren’t digesting foods; your body can’t go through its natural process.

One of the results of a gut imbalance is anxiety or depression. It all comes down to the gut, and the bacteria housed there.

What does it mean to have a healthy gut? It means that all of the necessary bacteria strains are present. Without enough hydrogen, this balance is difficult to maintain. Drinking hydrogen water can improve the balance of bacteria in the gut.

Hydrogenotrophs convert fiber and fatty acids into hydrogen gas. They consume 30% of this gas as their own energy source or fuel source, and the remaining 70% of that gas goes into the body to regulate pathways from neurologic to antioxidant pathways.

How is this hydrogen water made? Does it exist in nature?

Hydrogen water does exist in nature. Many places have naturally occurring hydrogen rich water, including 2 or 3 in the United States, and other places like Mount Fuji in Japan.

A study was conducted by a company that wanted to find out the difference between drinking hydrogen rich water that was naturally occurring in Mt. Fuji versus drinking hydrogen rich water produced in a device created by Synergy Science. They were also looking to discover what happens to cancer in the body when you used natural hydrogen water or high content hydrogen water by itself, what happened with the chemotherapy drug alone, and then what happened when you combined the hydrogen rich water and the chemotherapy drug.

This was a multi-faceted study where there were looking at several options: Hydrogen water, both natural and high content alone, the chemotherapy drug, 5-fluoracil, alone, and then a combination of the two. What they found is that hydrogen greatly benefited greatly apoptosis. Apoptosis is a natural process that destroys cells if they are multiplying improperly, such as with cancer cells. But when cancer takes over a cell, apoptosis is turned off.

Somehow, hydrogen molecules signal apoptosis to turn back on. In that study, the researchers stated that hydrogen water, especially high content hydrogen water, had an incredible anti-cancer activity in the body. And even more exciting is the finding that when they combined 5-fluoracil with hydrogen, there was 100% cancer cell death. This study, dealing with colon cancer, showed the strong anti-cancer activity in the body.

There’s an educational website called hydrogenstudies.com, which details 1,025 studies dealing with hydrogen, along with information on what country the studies came from and the years they were published.

Why don’t more doctors know about this?

No medical school teaches its students about the benefits of hydrogen. The first study that “woke everyone up” to this concept, according to Barattiero, wasn’t published until 2009 – so the information is relatively new.

“Nature Medicine” is a study that showed that hydrogen was a selective antioxidant, meaning it only reached and reacted with reactive oxygen species, like hydroxyl radical, for example. Researchers specifically talked about hydroxyl radical being the most cytotoxic (cell-damaging) radical in the human body. They also discussed how hydrogen modulated that cytotoxicity, stopping the production of hydroxyl radicals. This vastly improves mitochondrial function because the hydroxyl radicals are affecting the body in terms of ATP production in the respiratory chain and the mitochondria.

This was a foundational study in 2009. Since then, which is just over 10 years now, 1,025 studies have been published. In the year 2020, both in the US and around the world, 114 studies on hydrogen were published. Half of those were conducted in China. Believe it or not, Barattiero says, it’s coming out that hydrogen was even used as a treatment for COVID-19. They used hydrogen to help combat cytokine storms.

More studies are coming out on cytokine storms, their impact on chronic inflammation, and how hydrogen can modulate these. The information is out there, Barattiero says, but it’s not getting to the public. It typically takes ten years for information like this to reach the public and we are just barely at the 11-year mark, so it’s just begun, he says.

Difference Between Hydrogen Water And Tap Water

Although the chemical makeup of water is H2O, the result of this hydrogen bond is a liquid, not a gas. So tap water doesn’t contain any actual hydrogen gas.

For health benefits, we need the H2 molecule, the hydrogen gas. This is called diatomic hydrogen, or molecular hydrogen. And there’s only the tiniest amount in tap water, nowhere near enough to find it. Essentially, there is zero molecular hydrogen in tap water, Barattiero says.

Some water from natural sources like from Mount Fuji, or in areas of Mexico, France, US, rivers in India contains extra hydrogen molecules naturally. People have actually gone to these places to bathe in this water, because the hydrogen has a real benefit for skin issues.

The difference between hydrogen rich water and tap water is the concentration of hydrogen molecules. But, as the cancer study showed, the increase in the blood is not linear, Barattiero says. Even a small amount of molecular hydrogen in the water could have tremendous benefits.

In the study, they increased the concentration of hydrogen gas in the water by eight times, but the increase of hydrogen in the blood was only 25%. Hydrogen is a signal modulator, so it’s needed to give direction to the pathways, but it’s not dose-dependent.

With Parkinson’s, for instance, you only need 0.1 parts per million of hydrogen to signal ghrelin secretions into the brain. There’s no striatal hydrogen (molecular hydrogen) in the brain, but there was gastric ghrelin in the brain. It’s important to understand, Barattiero said, that hydrogen isn’t doing the heavy lifting. What it does do, however, is give instructions to other pathways. And because you should have hydrogen in your body, this should already be happening. The problems come when the hydrogen you need isn’t present.

How can people administer hydrogen gas directly?

Hydrogen can also be administered through inhalation, meaning you can breathe it in, but it takes two hours to get what you need that way, Barattiero says. Drinking a 16 ounce bottle of hydrogen rich water will give you the same benefit in a lot less time.

Between 90- 95% of the studies used drinking hydrogen water as a delivery mechanism versus inhalation. In addition to the benefit of hydration, which is critical, you also create the negative electrical potential that gets into the gut to improve gut performance. There are some benefits to breathing in hydrogen, but getting it through drinking hydrogen rich water is way more therapeutic and more beneficial, reaching more compartments of the body including the gut and brain.

What’s the Science Behind EMF Protection?

Environmental EMFs can impact many aspects of health. Radiation shielding technologies can help modulate these effects.

The Cleveland Clinic did an independent study that demonstrated how sperm is affected by wifi and cellular signals. They found that there is a big impact on the sperm, preventing the sperm from swimming properly. Other issues resulted as well, including lower sperm production when EMFs are present.

Now, they are doing a follow-up study using the technology created by Synergy Science to demonstrate how radiation shielding technologies can protect someone from this impact on their sperm. The concept of these protective effects came about after studies done on wound care showed the impact on fibroblasts, cells that help wounds heal.

When the body is exposed to radiation from cellular signals, it affects the body in a negative way. In a study on wound care done in Europe, the body lost 90% of its ability to heal a wound after exposure to this radiation. But when the EMF protection technology was used in the same exact environment, a significantly lower percentage of healing ability, just 10%, was lost.

The EMF shielding technology doesn’t combat 5G, wifi, or cellular signals, but instead, it depolarizes the radiation so that component is no longer harmful. The signal strength is lowered anywhere from 30 to 80%, depending on which device. The big devices lower excess voltage in the air by 77 to 80% so that it’s not harming people who are using those wireless devices.

The company tested on a range of voltages from 600 megahertz all the way up to 42,000 megahertz. When the device was used, it showed an 80% reduction with 42,000 megahertz.

Instead of banning the use of 5G or 6G, these devices were created that make the environment healthy to be in even though you have these wireless technologies.

How does it reduce EMF waves?

Radiation shielding technologies have liquid inside of them and change the phase of that liquid. Each vial has two circles, with energy flowing clockwise in one of those circles and counterclockwise in the other circle. This creates what’s called a torus field.

In these devices, that torus field projects for a certain distance. The Qi Shield, for example, goes out eight feet, the Qi Home Cell goes out 25 feet, and the Qi Max goes out 164 feet in every direction. In addition to projecting outward, the fields go up, increasing the area of protection; the Qi Max, covers almost two million square feet, perfect for commercial buildings or large homes.

Not only does that field release negatively charged electrons, but it changes the radiation when other EMF fields penetrate it.

These units do not need to be plugged in because they create their own power. Depending on the device, they last anywhere from six to eight years. The larger devices can be refilled if you send them back to the company, and last another eight years. These units function more like a battery, creating power with the liquid inside. Thus, the device creates a field of protection, and if you’re within that field, the EMFs that are penetrating are changed.

Does EMF Protection Weaken Wifi Signal in the House?

Many people say their wifi functions better once they have a radiation shielding device in their home. It does not limit wifi or cellular signals that are coming into your home.

The devices are not designed to block signals, but to change the field so they won’t be harmful.

How Advanced is the Technology Used?

6G is already on its way, and these devices are ready for it. There are two types – the wave guard technology and the Qi devices.

When it comes to water, Synergy Science has perfected hydrogen dissolving. Based on Boyle’s law, Barattiero says, there’s a limited amount of gas that you can dissolve into a liquid in one atmosphere. Saturating the water with hydrogen yields great benefits, but you don’t need too much. Studies show that a therapeutic dose is 0.5 parts per million; that’s the magic number for what’s considered therapeutic. So adding 1.6 to 1.7 parts per million is plenty to be beneficial to health

The difference between his company’s device and alkaline devices, Barattiero says, is that his device doesn’t affect pH at all. Making the water more alkaline can harm pH balance in the body and create a metabolic burden on the system.

With stomach acid, for instance, bile is one and a half pH. The stomach environment is 4 pH with the gastric juices, etc. Dumping water at nine pH is not beneficial; all that happens is the stomach acid buffers that pH immediately and you need to produce more hydrocholoric acid (HCL). Many people have a tough time producing hydrochloric acid. So, now you’re putting a constant burden on the body every time you dump alkaline water into the stomach.

The body manages its own pH on its own. To get more carbonic acid and have higher oxygen levels, your body will take one more breath per minute. But you won’t change pH int he blook. The range of 7.35 to 7.45 blood pH is critical. pH won’t be outside that range unless you go into shock. The rhetoric that alkaline is good and acid is bad is false. We know that’s not true. Drinking something with too high a pH would kill you instantly.

People reference Otto Warburg because he got a Nobel prize on acid, which they believe is acid in cancer cells. But actually it had nothing to do with pH. He got a Nobel prize because he proved cancer uses glycolysis or sugar for its energy source, not oxygen. And all he said in his writings was that cancer can thrive in both an oxygen rich and an oxygen poor environment. In other words, it doesn’t require oxygen to function.

Somehow companies selling alkaline water took that to mean that Otto Warburg said cancer thrives in an acid environment. But it’s actually alkalosis that cancer thrives in. The more alkaline the cell is, the more cancer thrives. It’s completely opposite from what people have interpreted it to mean. When talking about consuming things, the pH has really nothing to do with benefits health-wise, Barattiero says. “This has been studied so many times.”

Instead, his company created a unit that dissolves hydrogen in water, changing the electrical potential, not the pH. Any type of water – distilled water, reverse osmosis, tap water, spring water – can be used in this machine. The machines filter out all the contaminants and dissolve the hydrogen into the water, regardless of the source water.

Alkaline systems can’t use distilled water, etc. because they need conductivity in the water. With the hydrogen water device, the chamber is designed so that you don’t need that conductivity. A

Another big benefit of hydrogen water devices over alkaline is that with the alkaline machines, the water that you’re drinking is in direct contact with metal electrodes. In his company’s device, Barattiero says, the water never comes into contact with electrodes. The device is harvesting hydrogen and then putting that hydrogen into another stream of water, then going through a dissolving chamber.

Therefore, the products created by Synergy Science are very different from any other device in the world when it comes to water, Barattiero says.
