- Many aesthetic procedures work through controlled injury. Dr. Park explains that lasers, radiofrequency, PRP, and microneedling all create inflammation, which draws in stem cells that release exosomes to rebuild tissue. Applying exosomes directly may help the skin move toward repair without relying on inflammation.
- Shallow needling may be enough. Dr. Park’s “crème brûlée” technique keeps needle depth at 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters, just enough to pass through the outer skin layer. At this depth, most patients need no numbing cream, which he says can be acidic and may degrade exosomes.
- Not all exosome products are alike. Dr. Park distinguishes freeze-dried products and conditioned-media products from size-filtered exosome preparations, and explains how purity, intended use, and price point factor into product selection.
