Yeah thank you. We&#8217;re gonna talk today about PANDAS and PANS. So Jill would you like to start by giving our audience a definition of PANS and PANDAS?

Sure there are two distinct diagnoses as far as the criteria that there are pediatrics, and I&#8217;m gonna refer to children, but adults get it too. So this is two distinct criteria that need to be met for these diagnoses. But as a collective they&#8217;re referred together a lot because they&#8217;re so similar in what&#8217;s happening in the brain and what&#8217;s like the whole pathogenesis of it so to speak. So PANDAS and PANS are two different diagnoses under the same umbrella of autoimmune encephalitis. So these are considered infection induced auto-immune conditions where the immune system gets confused and it starts attacking the child&#8217;s brain. And what I&#8217;m trying to expand as well, and I think a couple other you know neuropathic and functional medicine doctors are saying infection yes, and toxin. So that&#8217;s why we&#8217;re here talking about this today because this isn&#8217;t just about infection.
