Welcome to another edition of &#8220;Mycotoxins and Chronic Illness,&#8221; and today it&#8217;s gonna be, I always say a lot of fun, but this one really will be. I have the chance to talk to someone who I have admired, and I&#8217;ve learned from, Dr. Mary Ackerley. She is a Harvard trained physician, a psychiatrist, and, but more importantly, she is one of those rare doctors who listens to their patients, follows the data, thinks about what&#8217;s going on and is willing to keep exploring, and my other large accolade is that she really wants to look at what works and what doesn&#8217;t, and is just willing to let the cards fall where they may, and that&#8217;s just such a rare trait in medicine, especially in people who&#8217;ve worked so hard to teach the rest of us, because I think the other important, what was to me, part of Mary&#8217;s history is that she was one of the co-founders of ICI, which is the, what is it, The International?

Mary Beth Ackerley MD, MD(H), ABIHM, is a classically trained board certified psychiatrist. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Harvard University (BA), studied at NIMH, finished her residency at Johns Hopkins and was certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. She holds active medical licenses in Arizona, Florida and California.
She is the co-founder of ISEAI, the International Society of Environmentally Acquired Illness. Society members are dedicated to researching and quantifying symptoms and treatment approaches from biotoxin mediated inflammatory illness.
As an integrative holistic physician, she specializes in natural treatments. Patients commonly see her for anxiety, depression, brain fog and chronic fatigue. Her skills include the ability to manage cognitive and psychiatric symptoms often found in complex chronic illness. Protocols for biotoxin illness may involve conventional and integrative medical treatment.
