I Can Finally Complete My Bachelors Degree After Doing Vision Therapy

Dr. Bryce Appelbaum
When Andy was younger he suffered several concussions that affected his eyes and vision. Overtime he adapted to his new normal with vision and just accepted a life where he bumped into things, avoided reading, stayed away from crowded places, concerts and even grocery stores. One day Andy decided he was done living half the life we wanted to and he sought out some help and started Vision Therapy with Dr. Appelbaum.
Now Andy looks forward to reading, he’s more productive at work and more importantly he has more energy for what he loves doing as he’s no longer battling constant cognitive fatigue.

Introduction and untreated concussions 0:00
Hi, I'm Andrew Wiley from Washington DC. had some concussions that went untreated and this damaged my eyes and my vision. And my eye just sort of adapted to the injury and I ignored it and just kind of went on as if life was fine.
Daily vision problems and avoidance 0:34
You know, I'd have things like I would knock over glasses on counters and then I just thought that maybe I was just klutzy or something. Other things began to happen and reading became a little bit more difficult. And so I started avoiding reading and started switching to audiobooks instead as a way of dealing with that. I would also avoid crowded spaces and things like concerts or even just like going shopping at grocery stores began to give me issues just because of the vision impairment. And I was also having sensitivity to light and would also have a little bit of motion sickness if I'm riding in a vehicle or on a train.
These were things that I just kind of lived with.
Seeking help and starting treatment 1:24
ultimately sought out help and got tired of just dealing with these, living with the symptoms and realized that I don't have to live with this and it could get better and that's what made me seek out Apple Bomb, Dr. Applebomb. I am so happy that it's really changed my life. And so I was using different parts of my eyes to still see things. And what that was doing was causing a lot of cognitive fatigue because my eye weren't working correctly. This fatigue ended up being something that I could correct.
That has just been such a game changer for me. It's helping me with my interactions with family, with friends.
Reduced fatigue and better daily life 2:12
because I'm not as tired all the time. I was suffering from a lot of just chronic fatigue because normal activities wore me out more than they would other people. The act of reading, which I needed for my job on a regular time, was just tough. now is something that I can do and go read a long fictional series and those would be things that i would avoid and even for work reading building code information there's a lot of technical information and there is a a reading that's required and now I could do it in a way that is much quicker and doesn't tire me out as much and it's it a whole lot better.
Researching at home or things like that became much more difficult and um it shouldn't be as draining as it and now I'm more productive like everybody

else and it's just something that I feel so lucky to have that. I, you know, in the middle of my life and all of a sudden have this improved ability to see clearly and helping me think clearly, and I am so thankful for that It would have made work and school a whole lot easier if I had been able to see clearly. And it was just something that I wasn't even aware of, that i had a problem. I have 2020 eyesight and thought I was fine and in reality it's the tracking of the eyes and other issues that were causing problems and it is fixable.
And it would have been, I wish I had done it a long time ago. It would've made things a lot easier, but you know, so happy that I did it and now have the rest of my life to enjoy this benefit from the hard work that
Long-term benefits and gratitude 4:03
put in with vision therapy. I get to enjoy the benefits of this for the rest of my life and that's such a wonderful thing and I'm so excited to be seen clearly. School really, really difficult, and now that I'm healed, I am interested in accomplishing that and getting that done. This has been just the most wonderful experience, so thankful that you've helped me. Thank you.
