Hi, I'm Joey Rice. I am 35 years old and I have married with three young kids under the age of four. And this is my deeper healing story. Okay, so Joey, tell me, like, how did this all begin? This downward spiral.
Health Decline Begins with Acid Reflux and COVID 0:18
I would say it began, it started about five years ago and it just started with acid reflux. So I just starting getting acid reflex and I went to see traditional doctors and they put me on a PIP or anti acid and It kind of fixed the problem, I guess, a little bit. I stopped getting acid reflux as much. And then I got COVID in the Christmas, when everyone was getting their Omicron. Shortly after that, started to experience chronic brain fog to the point where it was really even hard to function or even go to work.
That kind went on for a good year. The blood work really didn't Show much that could have contributed and you Google it and it's it says, oh, your code, you have brain called brain fog. And I was just like, okay, well, maybe it will just go away because you get brain fall with COVID and then just goes away.

Um, and eventually the brainfog did kind of subside. But then I started experiencing really really bad sleep insomnia and I started having real bad digestive issues to the point where I was burping every time I ate or drank water or whatever the case may be and i was working with another functional doctor closer where i she tested me positive for SIBO. So I was like, okay, I'll take some antibiotics and that's what you do. You take antibiotics, you get rid of it. And I took two rounds and it didn't clear it up.
I worked with a nutritionist. eventually came back where everything was red. You're like, I'm dying. And it was very, very scary. The SIBO never went away. It just got worse. I used to weigh 195 pounds. When I checked into Deeper Healing, about 157 pounds and 3% body fat. So I was just absolutely not absorbing my food. That is how I got to here at Deepers Healing.

I was blessed to have a mother-in-law that, unfortunately for her, was also dealing with a lot of different health issues and she found this place first. Praise God for that because I don't think I would have even known where to go if it wasn't for Yes, so I got to the point where I was not really working with anyone and not getting any real answers and my mother-in-law who referred me to this place kept saying, you have to go to deeper healing, they'll get you out of the hole. Because I was really in a hole where when everything is right on board work and nothing is adding up and you really don't know what the answers are you feel very very Very very alone.

I mean to the point of Yeah, you feel very desperate. So when I got the deeper healing, I was a little skeptical, but I did see the results from my mother-in-law who did get better. And then once I learned about the toxicity of our world and what the real effects are from that across the board on your body, it was really eye-opening and life-changing to finally figure out exactly what the culprits are that cause the major issues. So back in, it was in November is finally when I pulled, I decided to come down for the stain heel and I did a two week stain heal and worked with both Dr.
