Sylvie Beljanski, it's such an honor to have you on this segment of Cancer Breakthroughs. Thank you so much for joining me. Thank you. And thank you so much for having me. I'm delighted. It's not my first time and it's always a great pleasure to come to your program. Well, I love it then. And each time I buy, we chat. I'm always so. You look gorgeous. Each time. Flattering both for for all of you out there. Sylvie Beljanski She's a French lawyer by trade. It's a health advocate for holistic medicine.
Public speaker. Internationally known author and entrepreneur. She is the founder and executive vice president of the Beljanski Foundation Whos mission is to research natural approaches to cancer. She's also the CEO of Maison Beljanski an international dietary supplement company. How did they do Gagner La Lutte Contre Le Cancer I wanted to see how much I butchered that and I this this book has helped propel Ms. Beljanski to be sought after speaker at health and wellness conferences globally where she is educated thousands of people about scientific breakthroughs and the field of integrative medicine.
Yeah, it is tremendous what you're doing. And I know we've had time to get a chapter in private. I mean, you're you're you're really doing a lot with a very slim group of people. Yeah. So that there's there's a lot of effort that you're having to do on your own and really driving this forward tremendously in deed. I mean, but I have a very small but really effective, very dedicated group of people that I'm working with. And they do strongly believe in what we are doing and the mission of the foundation, and therefore they give their best on a daily basis to to this research program.
We know that we make a difference. We see it every day. So it's very you know, it's good comes to the to the heart. It's a labor of love on a daily basis. But it makes us very, very proud and very happy. Well, we we are so blessed by your effort. And I know that the supplements that that your campaign provide, the honorable pro am about pro are supplements that are continually used for my cancer patients here at my center. And so it's a great benefit just to have those available. And that research shed that came out of the years and years of of studying and scientific research that your father did and France.
Well, thank you. Thank you for your kind words and for trusting that in our products. It means a lot, of course. The Beljanski Foundation,which is a 501 history has been incorporated in 99 in in New York and has been working over the years us who are establishing partnerships with a number of university who are actually doing some research and that way of working and delegating the research actually as allowed us to to indeed cover a lot of grants and orders of program research led to peer reviewed papers which are all made available to or on the website of the foundation Beljanski.org. So we are really all about funding research in the field of integrative medicine and sharing all this information for free.
We see everybody because that's what a non-for-profit should do. And what is, Steve, are is certain targets within that research that you're doing is cancer one of those targets that you're really closely. Indeed we of not exclusively but mostly being working on seeing how a number of plant extracts have been able to beat the development on cancer cells is in recall in general in mice. That's what we have been able to achieve. And my father, Dr. Mirko Beljanski, was a Ph.D. in molecular biology, was working at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, and he was one of the first scientists to look at the environment as a cause of disease when the environment is polluted.
At that time, everybody was thinking that cancer could only be a genetic disease. So if it was only resulting from some random mutation or genetic mutation from from a gene. And my father said, maybe mutation sometimes, but there is something happening when as an event of the DNA, when we are in a political environment and he was able to measure the degree of destabilization of the DNA in presence of some environmental toxins. And then he's looked for natural compounds that would do exactly the opposite, meaning this preventing the destabilization of the DNA, all specifically preventing the course of destabilized DNA and destabilize DNA is actually a major hallmark of cancer.
Whether you look at from kingdom, animal kingdom, humans, every time cancer is sure the same way as an invasion of the DNA is a microscopic a cancer, a cells which stands cancerous, exhibits a DNA, which we as a to what parts of the DNA are not kept well together. There are some big openings. And what my father called big loops. And when you have those big loops, the replication hormones have plenty of space to access. They pick Asian sites and then you have an increased duplication of websites.
So that's how we measure sea level of destabilization. And we found a number of non-tech stocks which are recognizing those big loops and any beating this this destabilization destabilize DNA to grow and multiply. So just to kind of see if I get this straight, so you have the gene and the DNA strands and then they should be tightly kind of woven and that will then regulate the kind of space that hormones or different replication stimulation can can come in. So it will kind of control that. But in a cancer, they are these it's kind of loosely woven in a way.
And you have these big loops which will then create more space for these these hormones and other kind of stimulation factors to really increase the replication of that genetic because of these loops. And then there are then plants that he was able to find them to kind of block those where those loops existed so that it could not be stimulated as is that is what I'm understanding. But yes. It is specifically to recognize those big loops and it's actually able to enter the SO cells and the nucleus of those cells specifically.

and as a mechanism of action to this story. So said. That's fascinating. And so with the research that that your that you're doing, what have you seen? I mean, what what kind of results are you are you seeing? And is there specific cancers you're targeting in regards to this? Or is there more of a broad or several ones? What is the beauty of that? It's really first, what is it is specific to cancer in a sense, and then it goes to all the concept of cells. So so it hits these cells on the touched.
They is when you have a fight. Uh, DNA, a tightly woven DNA. So product is never going to come across and he's not going to enter also cells. It's going to be just fine, which means no toxicity, no side effect. You are good. If you do not have any cells with destabilized DNA, you are going to eliminate the product in a matter of hours. But if you have cells with destabilized DNA, which again is a hallmark of cancer, it's going to reach to all those cells wherever they are located. So now you stop thinking of lung cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer.
It doesn't matter. You have cells whose DNA destabilize on that. So you have a very broad application with the same pronouns, extracts. Actually, it's no toxicity, no side effects, no no toxicity to healthy cells. And it's going to reach out to all the cancerous cells, whatever kind of cancer we are speaking about. So it's and what we have been able to see over the past few years, we are working with Columbia University, Kansas University Medical Center, for example. It's an different kind of cancer because you have in the lab, you have to choose which sense you are going to work with.
But we were able to confirm that we had similar results and great results on prostate cancer, on ovarian cancer, on pancreatic cancer. Now, a number of other teams around the world who have a got interested into this project strikes and are also concerned about colon cancer about oh have cancer about and we have done also research recently on melanoma. I mean is the number of application seems to be unless as many organs as we have basically. And these then you your father as he was researching he was I mean he was looking for all these different chemicals out there that existed and then were able to isolate these chemicals.
You know, within these plant extracts. Correct. So you first looked for and created a database of toxic ants that actually do destabilize DNA. And it is so that that was is that that base would be of great interest to to to people making products, manufacture resources around the world so they could avoid carcinogens. But of course, I mean, as you know, a lot of manufacturers do do not want to take their products out of the market just because there is a researcher somewhere who says that there is a carcinogen in them.
And we just tried to ignore him and silence him. And my father went on looking for those natural compounds which would act exactly opposite as environmental toxins. And he found a number of small number of Arctic carcinogen compounds that nature as a lot fancy carcinogen in nature is really about bountiful but some more power for and causes some. And my father was really keen on having products that would be selective, meaning do not harm to any. And she said that's what's really, really important to him and and to me now because I mean, how would you make, you know, compounds foods, products and make them on the market knowing that could be some risk somewhere?
And the one that was a success of what we have been doing, of course, is is the fact that so is know no toxicity associated that we support with the products with those extracts. And so he found them so the finding yes they look them to these chemicals that could cause cancer and create that destabilization. And then then he was looking for natural products that had the opposite effect. So what were some of the things that he found, some natural substances that had that effect on me? Which ones were kind of rated top on the list to to have that effect from all this research.
So is first research a plant extracts which was quite well known then to time is very well documented in your Veda medicine and it's controversial is a problem we saw one fear is that it has a beneficial compound which she's made the reputation of Harvard she as a arty anti blood pressure product but it is linked or it is known also to induce breast cancer. So my father studied that extracts and he was able to isolate the compounds that induce cancer and remove it from the Harvard extract. He is all about his own preparation.
So is on preparation of Harvard here is completely crazy, have been free and is rich in understanding and I'm studying these beautiful selective anti-cancer property that he approaches to a number of cancerous cells and that is a purification process of zero. All fear is very messy, very expensive. You lose a lot of product when you remove the his have been so you looked at the if he could found a molecule that would be close to understanding and he found in the box level brain and then his his work was to found in nature plants that would contain flavor bitter pain and the sounds of pope in inhale which comes from South America.
It's it's a big tree. One of the beauty of the tree is that you don't need to cancer tree to recover the back of the tree. You can just shave some back. And as long as you have leaves 20% of the bark under the tree, it will regal itself. So it's very sustainable approach. And on top of being natural and the extract comes about once again is selective, meaning no toxicity to fancy sense and Arctic onset effect on all the cancerous cells.
Natural Compounds, Selectivity, and Synergy with Chemotherapy 18:36
As fascinating is that is that part of one of your extracts from from the the other I mean you have the supplement program. Is that part of Dr. Bell? Yes. So in all Cabal, you have the pulp and extracts. Zohar very few have on Victoria Extract and also a specific extract of Gordon Gingko. It's Golden Gingko is made of golden leaves is the same again cause I mean one king tree but one in the for the chemistry of the leaves change and that translating to a change of color of the leaves and then same become which in the different substances that green gingko extracts that you find everywhere and a golden gingko extract with the rarest specific extraction procedure that do not include any solvent.
You just water base. It has shown to be able to promote collagen production and the liver enough to leave her hand, prepare wounds, prevent fibrosis that can result from radiation. And the latest research programs that we had us and this gingko specific gingko extract shows that it helps inhibit ongoing in arginine is that enzyme that help cancerous cells create addition the blood vessels to feed them. The cancer cells need a lot of energy so they need a lot of nutrients. So they create additional blood vessels to bring more food to to themselves.
And with the golden ginkgo software able to stop those cancerous cells, which is kind of indirect way to get rid of is in addition to the apoptosis induced to power from pulp in I have our chef on be telling you so actually combining cells to exercise makes sense and and delivers good results. And that's amazing and and what's incredible is that this is not this this this is things that are being research that you're conducting research about at a very like Columbia University where this has been proven to take place in studies.
Yes. My my father left money of 133 peer reviewed papers in the really most reputable magazines. And it was very, very important that we got a young guy in his name with his name and his legacy, to also work with extremely reputable institutions, too. So there is no discussion. I mean, people are not going to to prove the science. You want to make sure that these labs and I mean those universities, reputable universities, are actually excited at the idea of working on those little known extracts because it's exciting for researchers to do something which is new and is going to attract the interest of a number of teams.
Actually, a scientific team is aware because again, how open and how, for example, in terms of Flavell billionaire next prize are other teams around the world publishing on their vegan ABC some different applications. Yeah and and this has that been the challenge always so when you deal with natural substances is to get funding for this type of research because obviously research is not inexpensive universities know their labs and the staffing and all of these things are all of that does cost money.
It's a horrendous the cost of that. These are all horrendous. Yes. But that's why I mean, we we are doing that's why non-for-profit. And I am grateful for all the support that a foundation has received of as a yes. As a resource. So, you know, those five that manufacturers cannot make claims. So if they cannot make claims, the manufacturers of dietary supplements, they have no incentive on funding research as they are not going to be able to speak about. So it's a kind of vicious cycle. You don't do the research because you are not going to be able to to to exploit it and make claims.
And you should not make claims to that. Make some friends to spend the money on an exception. And how do you walk that line between being a dietary supplement protected under the ACT, Dietary Supplement Education Act versus it then being classified as a as a drug and pharmaceutical and has to be prescribed. So there are two things. One, I try as much as different as possible to make the difference between the foundation always doing so research and company with I mean you will not find any claim on the website of the company from is outrageous you will not find a and nothing or so on.
So neighbors of such products we are careful not making any caps. The other think if you look at CDC and thank you for mentioning it there is a provision in the DOJ saying that you cannot make a claim unless you have notified. You cannot make research on claims unless you have notified the the FDA before doing so. Research. Oh, okay. If you because if you first notifies the research as in notify the separate is the ingredient for a supplement use. Then there is no evidence that you have at that time any intent to research possessed ingredient for research purpose.
Oh, yes. And that's that's where it helps to be a lawyer. Correct. When do you have to learn how to look at the text and in different dates? And maybe, you know, one could say it's a loophole, but it is there. And if you start by notifying the ingredient, then you are free to do some research later. And another product that that I that I love that you have and obviously cancer patients, many of them choose to use both the natural means to support the body and then at the same time use conventional therapies like surgery, radiation, chemotherapy.
And each individual has to make the decision what feels right to them as to how much they want to lean in both directions. And so and the beauty is that these products are not without and subtract from the efficacy of the conventional therapies. Correct. And actually what we have seen and my father was already speaking of that, but we had to do the science research again, because chemotherapies nowadays are not the same molecules that what was used at the time of my father. But he was that's his time.
Speaking already of synergy of action between chemotherapy bees and helping on our show when we go here and what we have seen with modern molecules like a gemcitabine that can block Latin, is that there is this synergy of action. And we saw that also with docetaxel. So different team at Columbia University, gemcitabine and carboplatin that was this work was done, that concise university medical center. That's very interesting because gemcitabine, carboplatin docetaxel are different molecules and sometimes you cannot associate them together.
So one to work one together. However, every time there is a nice synergy affection, we spell bahar and survivorship. Let me tell you. That's amazing. And also one of the challenges I know that that people are facing while going through these therapies are, you know, your white blood cell count goes down, your hemoglobin goes down, and then they have to to to stop or pause their conventional therapies just to get their their blood numbers to rebound. So then we we use, you know, from an art clinic, we use, you know, things like immuno pro to to help to support them.
The in the is that's a completely different line of research.

But it also stems from my one of my father's discoveries he wanted you know, he was always looking at how to help people with cancer and how one of the side effects of chemotherapy is very often, as you said, the destruction of blood cells and white blood cells are very one that is often a casualty of chemotherapies. So my father said, okay, so how is the body naturally making those white blood cells, what is now made by the bone marrow? So how can we support Zamboni? My role in its work and he's doing and doing his job and he was able to affect those little tiny fragments which are specific to the like act like primers of the synthesis of the DNA of the bone marrow.
And it has to be very, very specific because you don't want to claim anything less than the DNA of the bone marrow, which is going to make those white blood cells. And it was able to come to come up with those little tiny fragments. They come from a bacteria which is naturally present in the gut. So there is no risk of complication. It's not pathogen, it's not mutagenic. And any way it is completely purified. So we only keep those little RNA fragments and it's really a shortened version of what is happening in the body, because in the body it is in the gut that we are creating.
So what we need is a nutrients which are going to be absorbed by the blood and the blood will go to the bone marrow. So that's instead of waiting to be sure that we have what it takes in the in the gut and that we know that the lining of spaghetti is often also damage, is sent by chemotherapy. You take those little RNA filaments already prepared on desert dog, so it goes directly as quickly as possible without being dehydrated by the enzyme. So the saliva goes directly to the blood and then it will do what it is supposed to do.
Support your bone marrow in creating a decent number of of of white blood cells. And when I say a decent number is very important because you don't want to create too much. You just want to have a physiological number and a that's we have never seen too much we have never seen too much is screen issues and body of regulates itself very nicely with this product and creates a normal large of white blood cells. What is interesting also in working by just boosting supporting the bone marrow to do is job that it is that the bone marrow creates a lot of a different kind of white blood cells.
It's so so white blood cells are like a little army where every soldier knows what he has to do to protect ourselves and our immune system. And so bone marrow creates or the army or the soldiers, including the generosity of, I think, delivers everything. And if you take a synthetic product and there are some synthetic products out there that are going to help with one family of cells, and then you can you are at risk of creating an imbalance which never happens when you have just got a buddy to do is on track.
So this craves sun the full spectrum of of these different intelligent components that are needed in order to be able to obviously fully do the job. Because you need all I mean, it's like trying to run a company with, you know, with just accountants. Yeah. Yes, exactly. Yes, exactly, exactly. You need all components in order to be able to to run everything and effectively. So just because you have a bunch of bodies, a bunch of accountants, doesn't mean that the company is going to run effectively.
Yes. And you don't want to create another imbalance. You want to to to to I have a cow once and for weeks. To and and this has been been part of the research as well through the foundation or what? Yes, indeed. Then we were very lucky. We had a clinical trial a few years ago with cancer treatment centers of America, but we saw those little fragments of RNA, the population subjected to the clinical trial, where patients suffering from different kind of cancer, different stages of cancer, they they have in common they were all at the verge of thrombocytopenia.
It's very meaning technically they did not have it open yet, but they were really at the limit and they were all expected to fall into thrombosis mania, which is a lack of white blood cells or lack of platelets, which is linked to the white blood cells and if nothing was done and they had more rounds of chemotherapy, they were expected to all develop. Thrombocytopenia So, so lack of platelets, which is a family of one of the sinister soldiers created by the blood cells is helps prevent bruising.
It is those as a compound that helps it's clotting. So if you do not clot properly you can have you lose a lot of blood and it really itself creates a lot of problem and it's a common side effect from some chemotherapy. So they were very eager at at the cancer treatment Centers of America to see four little compounds. We saw toxicity, we saw side effect could prevent this thrombocytopenia to to develop and all of the patients in the heart were able to avoid thrombocytopenia actually. And none of them developed the disease.
No one of them needed transfusion it. And you could see that even when you stopped giving them, those are only fragments. They were able by themselves and bone marrow was able to create more platelets than it was a good beginning of the cycle. So the bone marrow had been kind of protected and somewhat repaired during during the off cycle of chemotherapies. Actually. That's incredible. And where where can people go to learn about all these studies? Where, where, where, where can they find them? So all the publications are available on the website Beljanski.org Beljanski.org And that's where you have or the information about my father's work and also recent for vacations and also all the events because we are hosting a number of educational events on a regular basis to, to, to share the information about this research.

Clinical Trials, Stem Cells, and Closing Thoughts 38:00
all everything about how the new business, I mean we have about two kids that here is a paper we share that with you so you know how is your money is used and this is something I found a lot of people are giving to kind of well known foundations and used you know, they have done something good they have a tax to tax paper for for to avoid taxes they think is in order. But then you asked them, so what the what has changed? I mean, how has the money have been used? Oh, we hope it was good for a good cause, a good use.
But people don't really follow up on how the money is used. And I do feel it is really, really important to share with people. Also good results that we get on their regular basis and let them know what's our funding, what exactly which research programs are funding. We are now trying to fund a new research on breast cancer stem sets. Sounds very specific, but cancer stem cells are those cells which are I resist chemotherapy and the sister is in the blood doing that kind of conventional concert treatments and they are linked to a metastasis and relapse, a conventional medicine.
As of today is nothing to fight. I think if it if it gives cancer stem cells and when it comes to breast cancer, about 70% of breast cancer survivors will probably suffer of illness. Of cancer does it means that we die of even to sick in cancer, but it means that they are living with it, which is anxiety all the time, which is eating our quality of life and says feelings that we are like sitting ducks waiting for those cancer stem cells to create havoc somewhere else in the body. So with support behind.
So however, when we tell yeah. Which have been shown to be so effective against so many concerns kind of sense and also dish on stages of cancer because we were able to there's a hope in I for example on BPH which is very very early stage it just being that it's still benign but it is an inflammation of prostate cells and they can this inflammation can eventually lead to cancer. Then we have also tested help beyond home Italia on full blown cancer cells with great success. We have had a study on advanced prostate cancer cells which do not respond anymore to monotherapy, and we were able to analyze the mechanism of action inhibition of nf kappab to to also prevent that to to to develop.
So we said why not testing those little extracts on cancer stem cells? And we have already tried on ovarian and pancreatic cancer, stem cells, in vitro and in vivo and it works. Well, it works. How is that measured? How how were you able to kind of recognize that that it did have an impact on cancer stem cells? So concept stem cells offers different shapes like there are specific shapes that you can recognize on those under the microscope. And researchers are able on the page reduced, for example, to cancer them and see if they develop or not.
And then in mice, you take a I mean, you induce a certain kind. You inject those cancer stem cells in a mouse and you see the tumor grow. And then you give the plot extracts and you see what happens. And we saw that before the animal study. We used only gavage, meaning taking by mouse and a similar dose to what a human can take when taking supplements. So we have a reason that we can extrapolate could by you know would be do similar effect on humans because if you go you know intravenously which is very often done with animals, then you have something which is actually cannot translate to the use done by for for humans, at least by mouse.
That's really exciting. Well, it's so exciting. And that's what I love in regards to the integrative oncology and the kind of holistic cancer space is that there's so much going on in so many different areas. And that's why I love doing this summit is because I get to chat with people like yourselves that are really driving this, this field forward, and it's being done in so many places in so many different ways. And I so appreciate all of us coming together to really bring to light the solution to something that the medical profession really hasn't been able to solve since since it declared war on cancer.
So, you know, we need. And that's what and that's why we are still in the war on cancer. But my vision on that, looking at the right place and that's why the war is never ends. And some people love to be at war because they are making money. And that's why we need to to shift strategy to maybe become successful rather than just making money and being at war. Doing the same thing again and again is a definition of insanity. I love it. Well, Sylvie, it's always a pleasure. And thank you so much for everything that you're doing.
