Caffeine

Caffeine is a natural stimulant found in coffee, tea, cocoa, and certain soft drinks and energy drinks. It belongs to a class of compounds called xanthines and acts on the central nervous system, promoting alertness and temporarily reducing fatigue. Caffeine works by blocking the action of adenosine, a neurotransmitter that promotes relaxation and sleepiness. While moderate caffeine intake is generally considered safe for most people, excessive consumption can lead to side effects such as nervousness, insomnia, increased heart rate, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Individual sensitivity to caffeine varies, and some people may experience more pronounced effects or be more prone to caffeine-related issues.
