Newborn Follow-Up Schedule 0:00
Hey friends, it's Dr. Ott with the Doc and the Fam. Today I'm going to talk to you a little bit about follow-up for your newborn. So here's what I tell everybody. Just remember the number two, cause you're going follow up two days after you go home, two weeks of age and two months of edge. That is a typical followup. For a newborn at two of the age, we're gonna focus on that one for this quick video.
Two-Day Visit: Feeding and Diapers 0:18
Two days of aged. The main thing that I want to know when I see a baby back at today's is how are they feeding? So please keep track of those feeds. You're going to write down every time they eat, approximately how long they ate, was it one side or both sides. But you're gonna still write it down. Every time, they pee or poop so that you can report that to your pediatrician or caregiver. And I want to know what their weight is. So we're to put the baby naked on the scale and compare that their birth weight because at two days, again, we are still in the losing weight, maybe starting to even out a little bit phase.
I want to make sure that we're not at or beyond 10% weight loss and that have evidence that baby's feeding well and making tracks.
Two-Day Visit: Weight and Warning Signs 0:58

At this point, parents might be overwhelmed and they just need to be reassured. That's totally normal. So come on in for that two, two day visit, get checked out, make. Sure. Baby's looking good. and you might have questions you didn't know you were gonna have. Here's a tip. Baby 411 is my favorite user's guide for babies to have at home.
