Today, he inspires others through faith, health, and rebuilding life with discipline and purpose. Until... Where did the name Mr. Avocado come from? It was a trend. So because of the trend, and they started to call me like, Elias, you know you're the one that moves more avocados than anybody. Really? You're on the top, they say, wow! Right? We think about fruits, vegetables, and all of this other healthy stuff, but where does it come from? Do you have local growers? You have a local distribution? What does that look like? How is it kept? And what type of relationship are the people behind it? But there's other things that we have to think You know, there's a mindset that we have to tap into when it comes to health and wellness. And today's guest, There's beautiful story behind his mindset and what led him to what he's doing today.

This guy here is known as Mr. Avocado, but there is a lot more behind him than just avocados. Today we had Elias Serrano. Hey, thank you Sami. Thank you for having me here. Welcome brother, welcome. So, you know, we had the pleasure to connect and meet Ella DeVore's Longevity lunch that she did. It was the one around Thanksgiving. That was at Mar-a-Lago. Yeah, it was amazing. Yes, It's beautiful. You know it's actually my first time at mar-alago It is a great group. There was a lot of great people in the longevity space.

People talking about health, wellness, nutrition. And I remember sitting there and everybody's talking this avocado guy. Why is everybody talking about Mr. Avocado? So I'm happy to have you here on the podcast. We got a lot to talk about. You know, we got more than just avocados. we've got all kinds of stuff here that I'll let you chime in later when we get into the meat and potatoes about this. But before we even get to any of it, I want people to get You are right. And what I like to always do is go back to your upbringing from when you were like five years old.

What was life like? How was your up bringing and how did that lead you to where you're at today? Well, imagine I'm from, I was born here in New Orleans, but I am from Panama and I come from a very tough neighborhood, which is called Carrasquilla in Panama. So I don't want to say we were poor, we we're in a tough situation. And then little by little I started to learn how to survive in my country because we live there in survival mode. You know that right? More when you come in from these type of places.

Right now, man, for me, it's a blessing what happened in this country. I mean, everything, I give the glory to the Lord, to my savior, Jesus Christ, because, dude, not many people have this opportunity, you know? And how I was able to build myself from a very dangerous environment, and then had the opportunity to get to meet the Bible, I mean, the word of the Lord. And he guide me to all these things so I can have the wisdom to build things and get things going, which is the most important thing.

You know, and then success arrived, you know. But what I call success is really the knowledge of how to manage the things from where I'm coming from to now. I know you got to have wisdom. To make that happen. And everything came from here, man. I mean, I'm leaving a blessing and thanks to the Lord. That's why I never forget about him. And I always got him right on point everywhere I go. Because without him, it would be impossible. It's not about me anymore. No. For me, it's the only way, brother.

You know, I'm a Christian, you know. I believe in Jesus Christ. But I tell everybody, whatever your religion is, if you need to have a spiritual belief, You have to believe it in a higher power. And whatever you're religion, is you to put some focus into that and have your belief in God. Yeah, you know what happens, Sammy? Let me tell you, I mean, when you want to build something for yourself, When you wanna build what you call success, right? The first part of the success you need to be of peace.

You're not gonna be able to feel something successful if you don't have peace, if your struggling, If you're going crazy, but when your peace The Lord controls your thinking. You know, hey, no, it's this way, brother. Hey, you know it builds your character where you're going to get whatever you want because you are living the peace. That's the truth. And that's why I talk often about it because people say, yeah, I want to be successful. I wanna have money. And then they go through mistakes to a lot of them because it's not about the money.

Money is going to come. Right. It's a side effect. But it is coming. Yeah. Is coming once you build your soul and your spirit. Once you've built your insight. Hey, you got to be ready for everything. Remember, when you are in a successful environment, it stuff is problems every day. More money you have, more problems you'll have more. You grow more problem about how you deal with them. Right. I do it in a spiritual way, you know, and everything goes smooth. Why? Because for me, Jesus is walking in front of me.

He knows everything that's going to happen. So for. Me, everything's gonna be all right. And that that. That's how the avocados and the broccoli is arrived to my life, You know? And it's been a boom. There's some people, and some that are gonna tune into the podcast, that don't have a spiritual belief, or don' believe in Christ. And one thing that I always tell people is like, you might not believe what we're talking about, but I can guarantee you, I'll put everything I have on it, if you live through the word of Christ, there's no other choice but your life will be better.

it will be better. It will. And you know, the structure is full of promises. This is what people don't understand. People come and say, yeah, I don' believe I want to stay away because they don''t want go through the process. The process is beautiful because it's just going to build a better you. I make you feel the world very small, man. Why? Because you can achieve everything in the Lord. So, yeah, it's difficult sometimes, but you got to respect. I respect everybody, you know. If somebody don't want to believe or they want go against a conversation, I just shield.

At the same time, I always try to bring people to the kingdom because I know how it is. Your life will be better. Do health. We're talking about health, right? That's your point of view here. Health. You're going to be healthy if you have a same spirit. If you a good relationship, you understand what he wants, what you want to change. When you take the lie out of your heart and you put the truth, You are not going get sick, man. It is what it is, and that's why it's very important to explain to people, listen, the truth of the Lord tells you, I got you.

You're not going to be sick. you're okay.You can achieve everything on me. I guarantee you that those are His promises. That's the Truth. And sometimes people want to avoid it. We understand we have different mentalities, different point of views, you know, but the truth is that if you go here and you create the relationship you need in the way it is, everything will be better. But you what's going to be the better? The joy. The peace. People go to medicines, doctors, that's why they're making so much money.

Anti-depressive, well that doesn't cure you. That's not gonna cure the reality. People don't understand that what is making them sick is a lie. Let's talk about that because I firmly believe that the peace is extremely important. I'll give you a few examples, right? And I want you to kind of chime in with some examples too. One thing that I can put a lot of money on this is that if you have a life partner, a girlfriend, boyfriend, or wife that is creating nothing but stress for you, and you're not living in peace, it's gonna be very difficult to be successful.

Well, everything depends. Look, sometimes you don't even know because when you are in the war of the Lord, He puts you everything on front. And sometimes even what you have as a couple is going to be stressful. But there's a purpose for that because you got to build patience. Right. So sometimes we feel that our partner is stressful because we don't understand them. It's a female, you know, it's it is a different sex. They have a. Different type of mentality or different type. Of thinking. Yeah.

That's the thing. If you're without this, he's going to stress you out and he is going. To kill you. Oh, my girl from my wife, she's so bad. Then if you are here. And you understand that you have to know why it was the purpose of that female. Of course, if he's a toxic person, that everything is negative. You have no songs with. I mean, you don't have think about it. So let me ask you, because there's the difference between your girlfriend and a wife. Exactly. If it's your wife, We got to put in some work, right?

Because we've already made that commitment. Now, if you're just dating for a few months and it's toxic, you are into the word, she's not into word. You know, what do you do in a situation? Well, it depends. I will invite her, to come and join because I know what it is. And when you were in the spiritual world, You understand why there's a toxic environment. Right. Don't start this spirit. I got the medicine for you. I know we can change. But when you talk about change, people freaked out. Oh, this guy want to change me.

And that's where... Well, they don't want put in the work either. Well, that's the thing. Sometimes it depends off the scenarios, depends of the situation. sometimes you got the blast that they say, Hey, you know what? Let's do it. It happened to me. Let me tell you my story. I waited 15 years, brother. My wife, after she started to know why Elias, we've been so blessed.

Rock Bottom, Illness, and Turning to Christ 12:22

We've being so bless that I don't understand why, You know, what I'm joining. we just started but I waited because we created like you waited what 15 years 15 yes to get her to come to christ yeah so you were already you are already following christ in my knees praying for her every day yes married to her yeah oh wow yeah 15 is a long time but guess what I built the better me through the Lord because I needed that time. I need the patience. i needed to understand that I had to take a lot of things from my heart, understanding why.

Now we are in the best of our moments. We're living the real dream, the love, love of the lord. So everything's going to come. Listen, when you're in desert, When the lords sends you there, you know, Sometimes it's going to take time. Yeah, of course. But the best you can do there, if there's a transformation, we all have to get the transformation. Put the truth through the through that everything's gonna be perfect after that. Perfection. So, yeah, I waited 15 years. We were talking earlier, you said about everybody wants to be successful.

What is your definition of success? Because everybody has a different definition. Of success, right? For me, it's the relationship with the Lord. That's my definition. For there's no money, no business, that's gonna come. But that is there, but it is not my priority. Success is my relationship to the lord. And what does that relationship look like? It's intimacy, you know? What it brings to my life and to this table is peace. People have billions and they don't understand what is the meaning of peace, right?

And when that's coming to your life and you understand that no bank account can pay for peace. You say, wow. And then when the peace is together with the joy of the Lord, that says, brother, you need nothing else. That's like being in paradise. You are in paradise when you're like that. What's gonna hurt you? What gonna make you mad? You know, it's interesting because you talk about the billionaires and my business mentor, he brought it up because, you know he went through his own trip relations himself.

And he bought it, up he said this on actually my podcast. He said, You see all of these billionaries, they travel across the world to go sit with the monks, right? Who have nothing, that live in a very peaceful life. But you never see the Monks traveling to the Billionaires to get advice. They don't need it. That's a thing. When we introduce the lie in our heart, which is coming from the other side, he puts some priority on it. I want you to think about money all the time. And that's what is making people see.

Why? Because we call the flesh. The flesh is when you put those things as a priority in your life. So when you lose money, it hurts you. When somebody owns you, It hurts. You when your car get into an accident, hurts, you everything might even an air condition or whatever, because your point of view, the lie that was introduced in your heart is those things were going to make you happy. This material, that's how the enemy war. So it got you and then what happened? Who gets it? You know how many people get sick because of money?

Oh yeah, yeah. You them, I know them. Hey, when I started to advise a couple of billionaires I say, oh wow, something is going on. Because imagine, probably three months ago, one of my billionaire friends sitting on front of me and saying, Elias, you took the real route. I would love to take that route, they know. They understand. They see it, they feel it. You can't buy this one. So, of course, imagine how I feel myself when you have one of your billionaire friends in front of you and say, This is my advice.

It's the only one, why? Because I know where you're coming from and what is happening to you. I now what's in your heart. And we have to get there, it's a process. We talked about you growing up in the neighborhoods in Panama, right? And then we went all the way to Christ, where are you at now? We're missing a gap. We're missing the gap of who you were before all of this, right? So I want to go into that. I think it's important for people to kind of understand. It's very important. The life that you are living and the awakening moment that had.

Listen, I was a very successful promoter for clubs. I used to hang out with all types of artists, you know, Enrique Iglesias, Sami Sosa, Dennis Rotman was my buddy, the way he weighed in my parts. I mean, a lot of them. So I was dip in the dark. I was an alcoholic. I used to drink every day of my life. You know, it was a toxic environment for myself. And then the funny part of this is that I use to be like top three promoter of in my country. So I, I just to work for nightclubs in country because that was the first thing I learned how to really do.

It was very good at it. Very good at being social or being good. You know what? Really good of approaching to the hottest girls in my country so they can come to my parties and I can feel the parties right away. That was my key, you know? So I was deep in the darkness, man. Drinking every day, some drugs, females, women, whatever they were. In the way it was. And I thought that was happiness until 2009, I got sick. They told me a disease that is called espondylitis, which is like a problem in your joints.

It was like an inflammatory disease, you know? So that's where I say, I gotta do something. Alcohol is killing me. Going out every night is killin' me because I used to work like four or five nights per week in the clubs. It was a lot, man. Drinking, partying, you know how it is. At the age of 29, Sammy, I was feeling dead. I'm gonna die. My joints, I wasn't able even to walk or run properly. I was bad. Hey, between you and me, this is just for you, and I haven't done it in any other interview. my prostate was killing me.

It was inflammation. Wasn't even able to have relationship with my wife. it was tough. i was in a very tough situation. So, I say, I gotta do something, but I still was enjoying my life because I thought that was the best thing for me. Curse, fame, easy money, it was easy, you know? So that's the lie that I had in my heart at the time. So all those lies, the war was my happiness. Drinking was happiness, smoking was happy, all that is my happy. Women, females, oh come on. All the vices. That was my real happiness.

Now, when the Lord came and said, hey, I will save you, we gotta take all that out, it was very difficult for me. It was one of the most difficult moment of my life, but the must pleasant. What was that moment? When I felt I was gonna die. I was having even dying thinking, you know, everything was tough because I will seek. I wasn't a very bad situation. So I say, You know what? I got I don't know. What to do. But guess what, in the moment that I. Was thinking. Why is this life going this way? Why so hard?

What I feel like dying. And I want to live like this. Exactly when I said, I Don't want. To live. Like that anymore. My brother called me, my brother, Eric. Thank you, man. He called and he say, Elias, I got the medicine for you. I know you've been in doctors here, there, you're taking a lot of pills, but I've got a real pill for it. This is your blood brother. My blood. Brother. You call me from Panama at 3 p.m. And he never does it at that time. Oh, wow. But I was thinking and dying, like I didn't want to deal with this anymore.

So he called. Me and you say hey, I got the medicine. It's easy and it's for free. Really? What's that? I need it right now, you know? And then he say, You got to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior. I say you for real already? Yes. Got no other option for dying right? No. You're sick. This is going to take you out of there. Say, you know what, Eric, I have tried many different pills. I got 14 in my table right now. It's not working. Still feel the same. Let's do it. So you want to do in your heart.

And I say, Lord, this is the real time. And my life changed. But then that's particular. Well, it's not. I mean, you feel the change right away, but it is a process. It's a lie that is going to change next. No, I don't mean everything goes little by little. Why? Because the only way that he's going cure you that this is gonna make you same is by you changing this thought that it was hurting you. You was hurt in your soul. your mind and your heart. Because all our thinking is coming from here. It's coming form the heart and that's what it fits our soul, our mind.

So I had to take all that out without going to doctors or psychologists or nothing. I just had my brother and them God does it all the time. He put a mentor on me. Put a guy, which is a pastor. I met him on the streets and he said, what are you doing? He was giving free foods to people with necessity, you know, to poor people. And I say, why are doing that? I said because that's what Christ sent me to. Really? No, no, I want to be your friend. and He started to guide me even more to the world. So that what really saved my life.

So, you know, there's a, in the Bible, it says the body is the temple of God. It is. Right. What were you doing to the Temple of god before you received Christ? Before? Well, what I was doing? What, but what were You doing, to The Temple Of God? Yeah, well, What I Was doing. Nothing, nothing right. I, was killing it. That's why you feel like dying. There's people dying because of that. And the reason why I brought that up is, I want people to realize that when we say that your body is the temple of God, if you don't feed it what it needs, mentally, spiritually, physically, the foods, what ends up happening is exactly that.

Your body will start to fail. It's gonna fail big time. It's very important to feed ourselves properly. It is very to work out. I mean, to have a balance in your life, right? But it's important get rid of the things that are going to kill you, which is the flesh. Drinking, smoking. There should be no space in your life for that. Why? Because that's really gonna kill you. How were you able to do that? For some people, they don't just have that switch that they can turn on and off. For people it takes a lot of work.

Sometimes they gotta go to rehab and everything else. Just by praying. I took the real route. It was the relationship that saved me. So, hey, this is the thing. When you start in the process and learning about how he's really going to save you, it's right here. So you got to come here when you started opening the Bible, he is going teach you how to take all those emotions that takes you to drink and smoke and do drugs and look for other women. He's going take it out. It is a process. You know what happened here?

People want everything so fast, so quick. And they turn to be in the same position every year, and even worse. Why? Because everybody wants things next day. Nothing is going to happen overnight. Building your muscles, it's not going happen over night. It's the thing here. Build a better you imagine. God, I'm giving you the opportunity to build a better you, a real better, you have better. You that is going to make you build your real dreams. It's going take time. But you got to be patient little by little.

So, hey, son, this is not for you. Alcohol out. No, maybe a little bit because you're going go back. How about? No. Cut it. How about, no, don't go there anymore because those places, those nightclubs, where the one killing you, the ones creating the attraction to you. Don't even touch it anymore. Okay, Lord, I'm gonna listen to it. Yeah, bro, at the beginning, your mind is gonna go like this, it's normal. A lot of different noise, right? A lotta noise. It's normal, but people have that noise sometimes for their entire life because they don't want to change.

You know, so it's better to stop it at the moment that you have the call because you know it is going to call you. Hey, come with me. When you get that call, man, you better do it. But you're going have way better days. Why? Because imagine yourself, you were struggling because of your bad habits, right? Or your wrong way of living. And then everything changed little by little. People are going to call you crazy. That's the other thing. Listen, that's other theme. Let's talk about that. What do you mean?

Oh my God. Your family, your friends, everybody around. Oh, he went nuts. He went crazy! They disappeared. I know exactly what you're talking about. But it's the best thing that can happen to you. Why? Because you are going to be alone with the one. It's for real saving your life. Nobody else really cares. They say they care, but it is not the same because they don't understand. So yeah, it's gonna take some time. It takes time listen at the end of the day It wasn't overnight for you to get nice to your to you your worst moments, right?

It's a time Of partying and drinking and all of that stuff So it was going to take sometime to be better as well, too But I get it with other people, you know how they'll start thinking that you're a little crazy They don't want to hang out with you because now you not drinking. You're not gambling You know doing a lot of these other things but um You know, one thing that I tell people though, when they get into the word is, so people don't label you as crazy, is just don t be the weird Christian.

The weird christian who's just too pushy. There's a limit. For me, it's in God's word that we should be bringing the Word to other people.

Daily Spiritual Habits and Healing Through Discipline 28:38

It's our job to do that. But people have to be ready for it as well too. Yeah, of course. Everything is a process and everything has to be little by little. You cannot be out there like, hey, come on. I mean, right. That's our work. Yeah, we have to bring people to the kingdom. And that's my work, Sammy. It's been my job for the past 17 years when I receive it. No, and it's being amazing. But I go that way. Hey, let's try here. Let's right here like I was with your guy, Ricardo. We were talking, Hey.

It was an amazing conversation. I know his life is going to change forever after this, you know? Everything goes, like you say, it's little by little. People sometimes get it wrong, you know, because sometimes they feel the guilt. They feel that that's gonna save them. Yeah, I mean, hey, we're gonna be safe if we work for the kingdom. But we gotta understand the different scenarios. We gotta be smart. And we got to be smarter than the enemy. Right. Understand? So yeah, depending on the situation.

So that process, that we're talking about, right? The process that takes a while. There's certain daily habits and structure that have to go into play. What does that look like? Well, there's four important things, you know? Number one, You have pray. You're gonna go on your knee and you have too pray because that's the way that you create a very good communication with the Lord. And you feel the Spirit. That's you gotta pray, number two you got to come to the structure. Listen, This thing right here creates miracles.

I think the most successful, I mean the real successful people that they understand the Bible, this is for entrepreneurs. This is people who understand where they have to get and what they need to fix. So you gotta go to the bible. You cannot do it. without going to the Bible, because this is going break the life. The Bible is gonna give you verses that you're gonna memorize, you gonna put in your heart and in you mind, and they gonna destroy the strongholds from the enemy. Because that's what happens.

Well, after I go to the third one, we got to break all that down. What is the stronghold of the enemy tells you? You got a drink. You were happy over there. Hey, remember when you were smoking marijuana? That was nice. Come back. That's already here. You're not going to make it. If you're a loser, you cannot do it, so those strongholds are in your mind and you have to break it how you break. It through praying and the Bible is going introduce the truth and it's going break that down. Then you got to fast.

Fasting is so important. How long do you typically fast? Well, I have done it like 49 hours. Tomorrow I'm starting one with 72 hours, you know. Everything depends on what the Lord tells me or the number of days that he tells. I think 48 hours is something normal, regular, that you can do. Seven days is a top good thing that can you do because let me tell you what happened with fasting. Fasting helps you build a better relationship. Why? Because with the fast, you're cleaning your spirit. Everything that is wrong inside you is going to leave.

Because it's going calm the Lord. That's the opening. through the right relationship with the Lord. So we need to fast. And fast is very good also for your body. It's going to clean your gut, it's gonna kill the bacteria, even parasites. I mean, a little bit of everything. Fasting is so important and it will regenerate your. Right. When you're sick and you fast, You can get rid of them cancer. People don't know that. That's a powerful thing. But you gotta do it the same way. Drinking water, three, four, five, up to seven days, depending.

You gotta go little by little in everything. Why? Because your spirit has to be ready. Then when you start to fast, you say, wow, I was 24 hours without eating. I was so attached to eating. And now I understand that it was another lie. It was an other lie! The lie tells you, you gotta eat, You gotta EAT! And some people overeat, you know, that's gluttony. That's a sin. And he take it away by fasting. He makes you understand that you don't need to eat all the time and big huge plates. No, it's not the way.

So then you go 48, imagine you're 48 hours without it. I was dying. Years ago without a breakfast. Now I can't stop eating for food. How can you explain that, you know? So why? Because the truth now is inside. You don't depend on it to be happy or to survive or you're not going to die because you didn't eat for 48 hours. Excuse me. Don't do that at home. Then don' go crazy. I mean, it's little by little. It's a process. Everything comes through your relationship with No, but fasting is great. So you got the praying.

You got Bible, you've got to fasting and praising the Lord. It's so important. If you're praising in the lower, nothing can hit you. Your you are in war mode. Remember, your in a big fight. Fighting. Against the flash, fighting against the enemy. When you start to praise the lord, Everything comes right to you. His spirit will be with you and all those thinking that is they're missing the flesh They're gonna leave and the peace is coming. Hey, how? praising the Lord Peace coming from come on. I don't need alcohol anymore That was a lie.

It was the lie that I needed alcohol to be happy, you know? It's a complete lie, so those four things are very important to leave all these bad habits from your life, and you don't need a psychologist. You need a guy or a pastor or somebody that can help you for sure. I do help people by doing it and I tell them to call me because my biggest dream was right after leaving the war, I say, hey, You feel that you need to help others because you know what is really happening to them. So I did. I keep doing it and I give my numbers, I just told Ricardo, Ricardo I gave you my number because I understand the process.

It's tough. You don't drink anymore? No. No more. Nothing. That's a good thing. Very good. Not drinking, no smoking. Listen, I went in a different route. I mean, even a little bit more drastic, you know? I gave my heart completely to the Lord because I didn't want to put anything extra or anything as a distraction in our relationship, so I told the lord, listen, hey, just don't wanna sin anymore. You know, don' wanna do nothing that hurts you or nothing will separate myself from yourself. I don't wanna deal with that anymore.

So for me to have a good relationship with you, my view is to be right there. I mean, I'm not perfect. But my will, in my heart, wants to do that. That's a powerful thing, that's beautiful. And then miracles are gonna happen. They start to happen, and you say, it's an even different world. Why? Because when you work with integrity, nothing is gonna hurt you. Nothing is going back to you. Everything goes smooth and good and perfect. Why? Because you're doing the right thing. And you know, God has so many blessings for everybody.

When you are not connected the way that you talking about, you blocking those blessings. Yes. You really are. So Elias, We went through this whole thing, you got the Lord, but there's something that I gotta ask you, man. I know you can ask whatever. Where did the name Mr. Avocado come from? We're talking about all this stuff, I'm trying to figure out the Mr Avocados. That's the gift, and that's what I was saying. Then next you start thinking differently. You were sick, like about to die, then the lord put clarity in your mind.

Let's build something. And then I opened my Fresca Greens, which is my fruits and vegetable distribution center in Miami, right? And we started like everything, little by little. It was a very small place at the beginning, but you know, When the Lord give you the clarity, he give the wisdom, right? I say, hey, I wanna go there. I want to keep growing. But I gotta work hard. So I started to be, not because you're with the lord, you are not gonna work. No, when you were with Lord, You have to work even harder.

Even harder, why? Yeah, yeah, because he tells you, Hey, we're here to war. People don't understand that. They gonna start pointing finger. He's making money now. You don' listen to those. You just listen to what I say, you know? He's gonna bless you if you put him first and you work hard. So I started, I studied, it's a funny thing that I was not selling avocado in my first three or four months. And then a guy called me up like Elias. What were you selling? I were selling lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, a little bit, but I never dealing with avocados.

Just because I didn't knew the item properly for me to be a distributor. I don't have the knowledge. So this guy called me like, hey Elias, I just had a fight with this other guy. and I need you to be my distributor. Say, bro, I don't wanna deal with avocados. Hey, Elias, listen. I heard from you, and got your number from somebody else. And I know you're the right guy, man. So, say listen, if I told you I didn't want to deal avacados, so don' call me back again, okay? Thank you. so I hung up on him.

and then he called me and said, Elias, sorry, but I'm not gonna miss this opportunity. And I'm going to send you a book. Say you for real, man. Are you? Yes, because you're the guy. So really send it then. He sent it to me. You sent two pallets and he but he was very smart, you know, he said, Elias, this is the market. Go right here and you want to sell it right away. They really let me make a couple of phone calls. Hey, I got avocados. Twenty eight dollars. I will never forget. 28 dollars at that time.

Really? Send me a pallet. Say, a palette? Pallet is 80,000. Yes, send me your pallets. Okay, I sold one pallete. Then I call another guy, just two calls, two phone calls. Hey, hey, got avocados in 20, 20. Send a me pallette. See, wow, he sold the two pallettes right away. They haven't even arrived, right? So they arrived. I made the deliveries, say wow. And then the guy called, but I didn't call the guys. And the guy called again like, Elias, how was it? I said, it was good, you know. I think I sold them.

Really, yeah. You want more? He said yes. How many? Say, give me 10 pallets. And he goes like are you crazy, Lias? 10 Pallets, say, why you call me for? You first were pushing for two pallets and this and that, and now you're afraid of 10 pallet, send me the 10 palettes or we're not gonna do business anymore. I was like, okay, but be careful. Send me 10 pallets. And I sold the pallettes right away, I saw them like in 15 minutes. So that's how everything started. Then, from two palets, to 10 palette, 15 pallete, 20 pallette, 40 palletes, 60 palleti, three, four, five loads a week.

started with two pallets. So now, yeah, in this industry, when it comes to the small avocado, the avocado has, that's a huge volume for South Florida. What we do is we go to every distributor, every other huge company, they come to us because they know we have it all. Where do they come from? Mexico. Oh, Mexico, okay. Yeah. They're from Mexico so that's how... Are these the only ones that you guys do? This type of avocados? Yeah, I only do has. There's a different... Yeah there's plenty of them.

yeah there was like probably 10 different type avocalos but it is something that how it started. It started with this guy from mexico He called me up. He put me in the business. Now I feel like, like happy and that I, that, I own a lot to that country, you know, because we became very popular in The Avocados because they were from Mexico. Boy, started to do only Mexican. You know what? I'm going to say I got Colombians, Peruvians. Everybody come here. I want to see them. And that's because that how I started, and I think I owned, yes, it's loyal.

And it's the best. I'm not kidding, I mean, Mexican avocado is the top of the world. Are you guys moving still a lot of avocados? Oh yeah, yeah. We move a lots of everything. Now we move even more. I mean, I started to do my marketing with avocados because we understand that it's a good source of potassium. It's very popular, you know, the vitamin that he has the oil content, and it helps with the bad cholesterol, It was a trend. So because of the trend, and they started to call me like, Elias, you know you're the one that moves more avocados than anybody.

Really? You are there, man. You're on the top. They said, wow. Well, I started using it as a tool of selling and more than anything, marketing.

Building Fresca Greens and Becoming Mr. Avocado 43:28

We do everything, we do apples, broccoli. But if I go out like, I'm the king of the broccoli, it's different. Avocados call the attention right away. Then, because of The Avocado and the work we were doing as a company, everybody started to come on board. companies that were rejecting me, companies, that I thought I was never gonna be there. I mean, we really, I meant, We are the distributor of the best brands in the world. We use Sunkist, and we use Darigo, or we used Tanimura, you know? And all that happened little by little, right at the beginning of all this.

That's why I say I'm so blessed because I put the lure first, you know, and then everything. I wasn't even expecting that thing that early, You know? And he started to open doors that I couldn't ever imagine. It was like as I got you here, here here and out of nowhere. At the beginning of the first year, I was dealing with the majority of best growers in the world. So imagine, I mean, yeah, you take your decision, and you want to open your business. You want come to the fruit and vegetable business in your way, in the way it is, the in way of the Lord.

And then doors start to open and now look where we at. I mean, it's been a blessing. That's amazing, brother. Yeah. So your warehouse is you have a warehouse refrigerator. In Miami, close to the airport and close. To the new Beckham Stadium. Oh, yeah, right. Right. All right, so now people is going crazy knocking on my door. I wanna buy your property. Yeah, yeah, they're going crazy. Oh, wow. You gonna sell it? Not yet, man. The price has to be right. It is right right now because they are going to crazy, but I mean...

I'm happy there. I think I have to take the next step because there's a lot more coming our route. It is that this has been very expensive when it comes to commercial. So we are just waiting for the right moment. No, we're not desperate. We can grow more right now. W we haven't done it because of the space. And we need more space, but it's coming. Um, I not that's great. What, um, do you guys do any other type of things like sprouts? Well, not much, but we have brussels sprouts, which we bring sometimes.

And there's alfalfa sprouts that we carry here. They grow it locally here, so. Yeah, I noticed that a lot of supermarkets won't even sell like broccoli sprouts or alfa sprouts. From what I was hearing, I interviewed a guy on the podcast who has the Sprouts company. He actually shows people how to make the sprouts at home. It's got a little kit and everything. And he said that there's not that much profit in sprouts. Is it's like everything else, you know? If you go to the apple section, there is a lot of apples to sell, right?

People eat a lotta apples. When you got to bananas, it is even bigger. But when you go to the Sprout section, it's a very small section because not everybody has the knowledge for what it is or what is going to bring to your health. And that's the biggest issue. People is ignorant when it comes to Sprouts, you know, and they don't use it daily. It's not a popular item. Right. That's why it' very difficult. Yeah, It' a bit more difficult That' why we don' sell it much. So, you know, I want to talk about how you have seen and participated in bridging the global growers versus local growers when it comes to, um, You know all the produce.

Yeah. Well, we use I have to go with a little bit of everything, in, out, because we need to have supply all the time. The local growers, they can't, like, pineapples. We don't have pineapple growing here. You have bring it from Costa Rica. They plantain, which is now from my country. It's impossible to grow here, I mean, it's too expensive, the air is not the proper for that. So we gotta go a bit to different places and bring over to here Also, we use some local broccoli, local cauliflower, and local romaine and romane hearts.

But the majority, to be very realistic with you, use California. California is a different world. When it comes to growing, it's the top in the world, Why? Because it's a blessed earth. They got everything there. So they grow the broccoli, the cauliflower, and the romaine hearts in volumes. they feed the world. You know, they send to Europe, to everywhere, you know to Asia because it is a very good product. I mean they really know what they're doing and these are people that they started 100 years ago to do this.

We support locals, but we got to go everywhere because we've got keep the supply to the supermarkets and to all the customers that we have. When it comes to avocados, you're not going to find this here. People say, do you have local? Yeah, we can get you local, the big avocado. But unfortunately, it's not the same. It doesn't have the oil content. Doesn't even have this same taste. Wow. I like it. Yeah, I can eat it, but I will never change the Mexican oil. No, no, forget about it! So, you know, when we talk about, the rise in produce, have you seen a huge increase?

Just all the health and wellness stuff that's happening and, people being more health conscientious, more gym gyms opening up more restaurants that are more focused on organic foods and healthy eating. Listen, I think I got into this in the right time. Well, it was like 20 years ago. But probably in the 2000s, things were a little bit different. But now in past 10 years, man, people want to go back to hell. They understood that this can cure you and can save life. This is a pharmacy here. It is medicine.

It is a real medicine for your stomach, for you brain. I mean, I don't want to talk about others. But I think when you do the balance when it comes to your health and when comes what you put in your mouth, your food, it's very important. Hey, apple was made for something. Pears as well, you know, limes or lemons as you can just not step away. You're going to get hurt later. No, I mean, if you cannot abuse anything you do, but fruits and vegetables, man, they're important to us. I see a lot of people out there, no, don't eat this, for people, you know.

But at the end, we have our choice. We can express ourselves. This is important. And now, yes, the industry is even popping more. because they understand. There's people that they're taking care of cancers and a lot of other disease just by eating healthy. Right, right. Do you guys distribute outside of Florida or primarily just here in Florida? Well, we got some islands that come. We know the contrarians of my place and we go to the Virgin Islands and to Guyana, et cetera. And there is some other cities like Tampa or Lando or probably in Michigan or from let's say Connecticut, they come in here and they get it in my warehouse.

We don't make the delivery. They say, we want your plantain. And then you come here, and then they send their truck and we load it. Yeah, but we don' deal with making deliveries in other states. Right, right. So the consumption of this food, what do you see a lot of these businesses really asking for right now when it comes to the type of foods that you have? Well, it's everything depends on the market, too. The good thing that we have as a company is that have different ethnicities. We've got the Latino ones, we've the Haitian ones.

We got, the Americans one. And they all like different stuff, right? Yeah. If you go to the American places, it's lettuces. Yeah, they want lettuce, as they won broccoli. I mean, I have to have the volume for them. if you got to be Latino places or Haitians places is plantain. They want plantains. You don't get plantains from like the Caribbean islands, like Dominican Republic. They don' have plantain? They have it, but I don''t know why they're not. I think they don ''t have enough volume anymore.

It's just for the local. You guys eat a lot of plantaine, so they dont need to take it out anymore, okay. they have tried sometimes. i tried before. it's called the free ass 22 i think and it was a very little period because you guys have a lotta consumption of Plantains in Dominican republic. So, you know, when it comes to a lot of the food that you have, the nutritional value, you start hearing, this is one thing I wanted to talk to you about, is you started hearing about not just the fruits and vegetables, but it also has to be organic, right?

And then you starting hearing a lot about the pesticides and then the different things that they're utilizing out there. How do you make sure that the foods that you're bringing in and distributing are to the highest quality possible? Because that's why we use the top growers. They really take care of that. We use them between both, organics and we call it traditional, you know. Listen, I know there's a lot of people that they go crazy, we gotta go organic, organic is gonna be the best, because this guy, he got cancer for this.

We don't know that, man. Pesticides have been there forever. I know it can hurt if you use it as a big amounts, but I was talking before the interview here, sometimes it's what we put in our mind too, no? Now you go to social media. everything gets you sick. Everything. If you go and you see the mirror, it's going to get you again. I mean, come on, you know? Right. So the things you thought were healthy are now get your sick, the Lord say, if you bless your food, be fine. You know, so, hey, we, use the right growers, to bashing the word, they top in the world.

We haven't get sick yet, you know, by using those stuff. Sometimes, some of them, they got pesticide, so it's not an answer that I can give you because I don't know how it works. I dunno if people is really getting sick by that. In my environment, what we have around, very good. You know? Yeah. Yep. Absolutely. So where do you see the company going now, man? Well, And I know you're involved in many other things, real estate as well too. Are you noticing that your passion is shifting or are you bringing them together?

What's the next step? Well, my passion, is the Lord. That's number one, right? Where he takes me, I'm here with door opens. I got my three entities that they've been a big blessing. They're huge, they're gonna keep growing. We keep going daily. In Fresca, in Fresco Logistics, even my real estate company, we keep rowing daily, so where he's gonna take me, I don't know yet, but I know it's going to be huge. It's just gonna be going. I mean, my mind is there. My mindset is still there, you know? I have the energy, I the passion.

I had the faith. So what can go against you when you have faith and the wisdom to keep growing? And we do it in a proper way. And I'm just not that guy that I want everything overnight. Tomorrow I won billions. No, don't ask for money. We've been growing as a company for the past 10 years. It hasn't been like this. No, it's been Boom, the billionaires alone. It's been like he wants. We got everything. And we're still a huge company. So we are there. Where we were in the process, like I say, of growing.

we need a bigger place. When I get there, I got in my thinking 15, 20 more trucks. You know, it's all coming, but it is coming a little bit like it has been right now. No, everything little by little. I was never expecting to be in this position. To be honest with you, I told you at the beginning. It is huge, you know? And getting to know how to build these three areas. And I had a soccer club before.

Produce Distribution, Quality, and Market Growth 57:18

I just give it away like on... You had what? A soccer Club. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah. So I gave it a away. You played a few different sports, right? Yes, I used to play baseball and table tennis. But it was something that it wasn't for me, but I built it also and it's very successful. It's still because I give to my partner. the energy, the thinking, and the ideas, which is what I ask for the blessing. Lord, bless my ideas so we keep rolling. He does it all the time. God is not going to give you something that you're not gonna be able to handle.

Exactly. And if you feel, listen, if feel that your not able handle, you will handle it. You will. Because you'll build that unit. That's why he does. Sometimes he doesn't like, come on, I'm gonna give it to you. But it's because he's building a better you, your strength. People sometimes say, how you handle three businesses? It's not me. It is him. I don't have to worry about anything. That's just how I work. Everything is going to be fine. Every day, that's how. And you know what? Every is a miracle.

Indeed, three different entities. So, you're into sports, did you watch the baseball games? Yeah, of course. I saw your team, it was good, they did good. But, well, that's a big message right there. You see what happened with Venezuela. Venezuela praised the Lord since day one. Since day 1, when I see the guy praying, Eugenio Suarez, He brought the presence of the Lord to the duck out. I say to myself, they won. Immediately, why? Because it was different. It was not normal. Let me tell you, there's a normal praying.

Yeah, thank you Lord, this, that, amen, no. He came and he brought a presence. The presence the lord to be ducked out They talked about that with the Dominican team. They would always get on their knees and pray before the game as well. But you see that a lot more in the Latino culture. No, now you're going in an American way. I mean, everybody's coming up. We're here, right? And we have businesses and it's difficult. But this guy, they got so much pressure. It's more than you and me. Why? They got the talking.

They've got news. That's a lot. And then it really hurts their ego because the first thing that it hurts when you are in those positions in these very famous and popular people is the ego. So they, oh, what can I do to control this? What can we do too? I need to be in a very good position so I can keep rolling. They're going to this. Yeah, they understood. So that's why I mean what happened with Venezuela is a Very big example. with the Bible in their hand, bro. I mean, it is what it, is. It was a very exciting game.

Yeah, I went to the game, you know what I'm saying? I couldn't go because I didn't want to walk. Right, right. Did somebody step on your foot or something? Yeah. But I won in the previous one. And I love baseball. No, it was good. I went to the the D.R., the Dominican versus U.S. game, and then I had for the finals as well, too. And the Dominican vibe, you know, when you go to those games, happiness all the time everywhere, people happy, cheering. You know what? I go those soccer games. But there's nothing like the baseball series, the World Series.

There's Nothing like it. And it's amazing, actually, when you look at the teams, like, you know, all of the players on the Dominican team, these are all MLB players, right? All the ones in the US MLBA, All in Venezuela, it was the favorite, they're the best of The best. But it wasn't favorite for winning this. They were favorite. The Dominican, I think so. It was a very strong team. It's the first time that it was just the way it lined up. One of the best pitchers also, right? The U.S. had the better pitcher.

Yeah, but I think Dominican has the other one. They were a tough team And I actually is that I don't follow sports too too much, you know Unless it's something that's exciting me then I get involved but I didn't know that the the pitcher for the US this guy was a ufs uf US Air Force a pilot Oh, yeah young guy 24 years old. I think it was another. Yeah. Uh, I was reading about it. It was like this young guys 24 25 years or something like that And he was a us air force pilot and now he's like one of the top pitchers.

Oh wow. Wow. Well, that's pretty cool, man so Hello. So as we start to wrap up here, man, I, um, uh, want you to take for this question. I'm going to ask you, take a couple of seconds to think about it. Let it come from the heart. What you do to let the world know what is the true problem in today's world and what the truth solution. Listen, The most difficult part of the humans is lack of obedience. Sometimes we want to hide. We don't want see it. When they tell you, don' eat this, it's going to kill you.

They go to doctors, like they say somebody that has sugar problems, right? They tell you Tony Chugar is gonna kill you, right? And they abuse them, all this, they don't care. Why? Because you're not obedient enough. And that's the biggest issue we have here in the entire population because we don' wanna see the truth. The truth is there, but we don't want to see it. So we get into all these health issues. We get in to all this huge problems. Sometimes as a family, as person, and we understand we are not going to be perfect.

we're going screw it up. when it comes to the call and they tell you, hey listen, you gotta change certain things so you can get better, but you got to do it. And we don't, the thing is that we didn't do. I see people, I, see it myself, and I got people that have died by drinking, no? And family members, they told me many years ago, don' drink no more. They keep doing it and that's the biggest issue we have here. Hey, now, Every information we need is out there. Everything is our there, you know?

That's what you do with it. But we hide it, we don't wanna listen to it we're like this. We don' wanna see it so that's the biggest issue we have. You're not obedience enough, your not, were just not. And what's a solution? You gotta obey. Hey, once you start changing that little part of your life that it needs to be changed by obedience. Let's say you're a drinker, or let's your gambler, no? Or let say, you are doing something that is hurting yourself and your family or whatever, it's many different scenarios.

Just start to obey. This guy here is gonna tell you what to do. You start with obedience, Your life is gonna normalize. And this is the most beautiful thing. That he's not gonna judge you or point the fingers at you because a lot of people don't come here because they feel they're gonna be, no, that's the craziness out there. Nobody can judge. The biggest thing about God is that he is not going to point fingers on you. A lot people want to go to the obedience because the feel bad for what they did in their past.

Sometimes that is why they don' want leave it. You know? And that's a lie from me. Listen, this is a good one. When you have somebody in your mind pointing fingers on you and pointing finger, that is not God. That's the enemy. He is the ones that want to keep you there and he want make you feel bad and He doesn't want you to come here because He wants you too feel guilty. It's not God. God doesn't want you to feel guilty. So, when you act in obedience, Lord, I'm gonna change. Help me change, then the enemy will say, dude, you wanna change?

You're a piece of crap. You came in. Hey, hey, the Lord is with me now. He forgives me. I am gonna to change! You got nothing to do with my mind. It is out. But people don't understand that. That's the pivot, that's a pivot that needed. Yep, it's powerful. Elias, right now man, you know, obviously you got all the healthy stuff here, there's big movement that happening. Make America healthy again, the Maha movement. Maja movement, yeah. What's your opinion on the maja movement? Well, its always great man.

I mean, they're looking for help. They understand more than anybody. This was a story. People is dying. The pressure, the heart, you know, what they're eating. You cannot abuse, now they even change the structure of how we have to eat. How we need to deal with food is meat, fruits and vegetables. We're there. I like, I love it. It's a very good things about what is doing this government about that and I approve it It's better than bread and rice. You know, one of the beautiful things, because, you know I go up there every single month to Washington, D.C.

and I've had the opportunity to interview a lot of these people in the movement, some of them political people, R.F.K. Jr. And one the things and, I have the interviews I'll show you, where when I talk about how to maintain their health, One of first things they say is faith. You know, and that's something that people got to realize that it's it. Something that you do consume, right? It might not be something. That you're doing with the vegetables and the fruits and stuff. But but faith. It's you got.

To treat it just like any other vitamin, you know that. Going into your body to make you better is the first. Yeah, it is. The first one. Then then everything else. Absolutely, absolutely. So, you know, we're going to have a little fun. One of my favorite podcasters came out with these cards. OK, this is from the diary of a CEO, Stephen Barlet. So these are conversation cards, so I'm going have you grab that, open it up, pick two cards out of there. Oh, OK. You're gonna read the card. I have no clue what you're to read, but pick it from inside.

Something that you get to. Read the cord and then answer it. Okay. The first one says, how do you take care of you? It's simple, brother. I started to really love myself when the love of the Lord took place in my heart. And believe it or not, the most important thing that we have and that we really have to take care. I mean, it's not what we eat, is what really eat here. If you have a good vision, you will have good health. So you gotta take every day what you put in your eyes and in you ears. What you're consuming, right?

Suck. Whatever you consume has to be properly and healthy. You're watching Netflix. Like I said, I don't want to point fingers neither, you know, but it is what it. And you're not looking at the things that you are supposed to be looking. They're going to put a lot of lies in your heart and that's how people get sick. People get. Sick here also. All these things were created for you to. Be in the hospital, man. That's the system. So that's this system exactly. You want to take care of yourself and stay away from negativity.

Reels. Hey, you got to find one, two, three people that you like and you cannot be washing and reels all the time because it's going to feed you with things that don't need information that your mind doesn't know. News. Come on. you cannot be there. So that's how I take care of myself. What's the next one? Okay. It says, how will you control your own grid? Well, in my life doesn't exist that, you know? Because like I say, everything's coming through the Lord. He built my heart so greed doesn' exist, no?

So that's how you control it? Through the power of the lord? I don't use that word. Not even in my actions or in mind thinking. No, because what is in heart is love. It's completely different. Is the opposite, no? And when you work with love, you put your shoes in the other shoes.

And that's how you create good business. That's you how create all these powerful things. You know, it's about good relationships. Good relationship comes and you don't have grip. When you're a greedy man, forget about relationships are out the window at that. Yeah. Yep. So like I said, as we wrap up here, if there's someone who's listening or viewing this podcast who truly resonates with today's message, what is that last thing you can leave them off with? There's a lot of promises here. a lot of promises and they're all good. They're good for our health, for spirit, our mind. There is so much going on out there.
