Trio of Troublemakers
High triglycerides, insulin resistance, and elevated uric acid levels are like a trio of troublemakers for your health. They increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other metabolic issues.
Fructose Frenzy đźŤ: Consuming too much fructose (think sugary drinks and sweets) can overload your liver. This leads to more triglycerides being made and released into your bloodstream. Not only that, but it also cranks up your uric acid levels, which we’ll get to in a bit!
Insulin Resistance Ins and Outs 🩺: Insulin is the hormone that helps your cells use glucose for energy. When your body becomes resistant to insulin, glucose hangs around in your blood longer, raising blood sugar levels. This insulin resistance also signals your liver to pump out more triglycerides, further elevating your levels.
Uric Acid Uprise 🔬: High fructose intake doesn’t just raise triglycerides. It also boosts uric acid production. Elevated uric acid can lead to gout and kidney stones and is also linked to insulin resistance. It’s like a vicious cycle that we need to break!
