He was like, I can treat him. 0:11 Let's get him in. 0:12 Everything came back 100% perfect, except his prolactin levels off the chart. 0:17 Did not even register. 0:19 Dr, B was, like. 0:20 I think this wasn't enough. 0:21 His prolactin level was over 425. That's as high as the test goes. 0:26 It should be below 20 in a 12-year-old boy. 0:28 Dr. 0:29 B said, all right, now we need to do an MRI of his brain. 0:32 I broke down crying. 0:33 Welcome to the Deeper Healing Podcast. 0:37 This is for everyone who's been dismissed, misdiagnosed, or told to just live with it and refuse to accept that answer. 0:45 You're going to hear amazing patient recovery stories, raw and real in their own words. 0:50 People who found answers after everything had failed them. 0:53 You are going hear from medical experts we trust that are pioneering new approaches to healing the body. 0:58 Because we deeply know we're designed to heal. 1:01 Let's dig in. 1:08 Hello, everybody. 1:09 I am here with someone who I just love. 1:12 This is Jennifer. 1:14 She actually lives about two hours away from deeper healing. 1:17 she's in Paulies Island, which if you have not been to Paulie's Island. 1:21 Beautiful. 1:21 And she has been a long-term patient here. 1:25 We were talking about, hey, you want to do a podcast? 1:26 She's like, I want share Ham's story. 1:28 Ham is her son. 1:29 Why don't you just start at the beginning? 1:32 Tell us what happened with him. 1:34 Well, it was the summer he had turned 12. I noticed he had low energy, like no energy. 1:40 And I was mother's intuition. 1:42 Is this a tween thing? 1:45 What's going on? 1:45 Something's not right. 1:46 Because he has gone from so much energy and life in him to just really a lot more sleeping. 1:54 His older brother and I, both patients at Dr. 1:56 B's, we are being treated for thyroid. 1:59 It's thyroid. 2:00 Dr. 2:01 B, will you just test him? 2:02 You know, he's 12. He's like, I can treat him. 2:05 Let's get him in. 2:05 Doctor B in his typical doesn't just take a little blood. 2:09 Like he is going to do the whole gamut. 2:12 Everything came back 100% perfect except his prolactin levels off the chart did not even register. 2:19 And Dr B was like I think this is an anomaly. 2:21 Thyroid's good. 2:23 That's But this is just off. 2:25 We're going to just draw a little bit more blood. 2:26 we're gonna run it again. 2:27 I think there was something wrong with the lab. 2:30 And so we did that and I came back in. 2:33 It was still off the charts. 2:35 Not even registering his prolactin level was over 425. Like that's as high as the test goes. 2:41 it should be below 20 in a 12 year old boy. 2:43 Prolactine is the hormone that makes moms be able to breastfeed. 2:49 So a 12-year-old boy should not have this high level. 2:51 And Dr. 2:52 B said, all right, now we need to do an MRI of his brain. 2:55 I broke down crying, and I will say that was one of the most tender moments.
MRI Reveals a Macro Prolactinoma 3:00 Dr B just came across his desk, gave me a hug. 3:02 He's like, it's OK. 3:03 We're going to find out. 3:04 So we did the MRI and sure enough, he had a macro prolactinoma, which means he has a huge tumor, macro because it was over 10 millimeters, 3:15 14 millimeter tumor growing on his, on the pituitary gland and pushing so hard. 3:21 It was just dumping prolacin into his system. 3:25 which made him very exhausted and tired. 3:29 So, Dr. 3:29 B said, at this point, you need to go to an endocrinologist. 3:33 Originally, he sent me out to a brain surgeon. 3:35 He said we need see if it's operable because it is at the size. 3:41 I didn't like that at all that I was having to leave and go into the standard medical world. 3:48 But we went, after doing a lot of research, we got in with our local hospital here in the Charleston area and met with a surgeon. 3:57 I took all the test results and it was quite a packet of test result plus the MRI results. 4:03 to the brain surgeon. 4:04 And he looked at it and he said, how did you find out he had this tumor? 4:09 And I said they did a blood test. 4:12 He, what blood? 4:13 Test and I say, well, they found it because the prolactin levels were so high. 4:18 Why were they testing prolactic levels on a 12 year old boy? 4:22 And I was like, because they're very thorough. 4:24 So we, this wound rounded around. 4:26 They were like mind blown. 4:28 He could not believe it. 4:29 And he said, he did a prolactin level. 4:33 Yeah. 4:34 I said his doctor is very through. 4:36 Oh, and I remember I gave him Dr. 4:39 Bowers Schmidt's name. 4:40 Yes. 4:40 His doctor's very though. 4:43 You don't understand. 4:43 This is never caught on a blood test. 4:46 this is caught when your child has vision problems. 4:50 when they has chronic headaches, when he's lost his vision, and when it ruptures. 4:55 I was horrified. 4:56 All these horrible stories he is telling you. 4:58 This is when its caught not. 5:01 So there's no parents checking that because they don't do anything until it's a severe physical symptom. 5:07 Right. 5:07 He said, just because he was tired, I said I knew something was off. 5:12 And he was like, that is amazing you found this. 5:15 There could have been dire consequences if it had not. 5:21 And I was, like well, okay, he said, but because of where it was in the brain, the pituitary is right here in this center and it's really close to your 5:29 optic nerve and thus it ruptures and people lose their sight. 5:33 He said we also don't want to go straight into surgery. 5:37 That's a little risky. 5:39 So let's see if we can treat it with medicine. 5:41 I was like, I don't like this idea of treating it with regular medicine, but we did. 5:47 So he said, it's so large. 5:49 I'm going to walk you over to endocrinology and I am going have them see you immediately. 5:54 They did, which was wonderful, wonderful customer service. 5:57 And again, we have to go through the whole intake with the endoconologist. 6:01 He said wait, you found this from a blood test? 6:04 Yes. 6:04 And he once said, he ran prolactin levels on a 12 year old. 6:08 Where's this deeper alien? 6:09 What are they doing? 6:10 I said yes. 6:11 I mean, again, I had the whole, this is a miracle. 6:14 They never find this. 6:16 Yes, yes, so we started with a pill twice a week and he was going to take this pill and it could cause him to be a little queasy tummy. 6:26 So I'm like, okay. 6:27 So we started on that. 6:29 After a few weeks, they came in and housed his stomach. 6:31 Well, it was fine because we were doing it with ginger and anything holistic to help him get that pill down and keep it down. 6:39 But before that, he said, because it is so close to the optic nerve, we need you to go see ophthalmology to be sure his vision hasn't been impaired. 6:47 Okay. 6:47 And so we walk over. 6:49 He's like we're going to get you right in there. 6:50 Walks us straight over to opthalmologist. 6:53 The ophtalmalgist takes the result. 6:55 You found this. 6:56 But the whole story again, I mean, all I'm doing, and they would meet with us.
Specialist Visits and Medication Trial 7:01 Danielle, it was the craziest thing. 7:02 And then they'd just stop and go, from a blood test, you found us? 7:06 And the ophthalmologist really was one that had... 7:09 I was terrified because he's like, You don't understand. 7:12 I have patients up here that have lost their vision. 7:14 because it got so large. 7:16 That was when the parents noticed something was wrong and there was no going back from that. 7:22 As my dad hadn't lost his sight to glaucoma, I know what it's like to have a impaired vision. 7:27 I was like, it was just, again, I just am so thankful for Dr. 7:33 B because we didn't have to go that route. 7:36 We found it on a blood test because the, we are so thorough. 7:40 So he did all the testing. 7:42 His eyesight was perfect. 7:43 Everything was fine. 7:48 Three weeks after we'd taken the pill, everything was fine. 7:51 We continued this, and every three months we did another MRI to see if it was shrinking. 7:56 It was not. 7:57 And we continued on the same pill twice a week. 8:01 The tumor's not shrinking, we've did this for over two years. 8:05 Wow. 8:06 Is it not growing? 8:08 It's, it's- It not- growing, they said that I should be thankful. 8:11 Okay. 8:11 Okay, so it's not growing, but it is definitely not going backwards and you're like, okay, it has been two years, what the heck? 8:17 Yes. 8:18 Yes, and I understood Dr. 8:22 B wanted me to go this route because this should have been what it did. 8:26 After almost two and a half years I came into Dr B and said, Dr, B, look, This is working. 8:32 I've done what you asked me to do, standard medicine, and we did it. 8:36 It's not working, at this point now they're saying we're going to have to surgery because it still hasn't moved, it's in the same spot. 8:44 We're still at risk of the optic nerve and vision loss. 8:49 Look, is there anything else? 8:52 I heard about tumors being shrunk with Q. 8:56 curment and he said, let me do some research. 8:58 Dr. 8:58 V is a genius. 8:59 He researches this and he's like, there is something we can try. 9:04 We can do an IV Q-curement with an iv of high dose vitamin C. 9:08 And when he does it, because again, it's right there, that pituitary gland, we're going to stick these little laser nods up his nose. 9:15 Remember this. 9:16 Why? 9:17 And they're gonna pull while he is getting the IV in, so it activates the Q curement at the tumor. 9:24 the site. 9:25 I remember this.I remember watching him with the little lights. 9:29 And he's so young and you just see the laser in his nose. 9:33 Everyone was like, what is going on over there? 9:37 He was such a trooper too. 9:39 He really was. 9:40 So we came down twice a week for a whole summer and did the treatment. 9:45 Now we did not share this with his endocrinologist or the team at the local medical facility here. 9:51 Only Dr. 9:52 B, this was it. 9:53 We tried it, so we go back for our next MRI. 9:57 we meet with the endocrenologist and he's like, it's working. 10:01 The treatment is finally working and I'm like it was so hard not to tell him. 10:08 Yes, yes, your little medicine is not at all, but they would not understand that high doses of vitamin C and curcumin, intravenously with a laser. 10:18 They would never believe this. 10:21 And I wasn't going to argue it with them. 10:23 So we did that and we didn't have to do surgery. 10:26 The biggest thing was we went back to the first surgeon and he's like, now that it's shrinking, I'm not, cutting on it. 10:33 That was always the last resort. 10:35 They knew that was high risk and they don't really want to do it. 10:40 We didn't have to cut. 10:43 It is shrinking. 10:46 He doesn't continue with the treatments all the time. 10:49 it is shrunk enough that we're no longer a macro. 10:52 we are now just a regular prolactinoma. 10:55 he has no other side effects. 10:57 It would have never been found. 10:59 He's back playing golf seven days a week, he made the golf team for college.
Curcumin and Vitamin C Treatment 11:05 I mean, so we're talking about this years later. 11:07 Years later? 11:08 So they understand. 11:08 This is 12, 13, 14. Now we are 18 years old. 11:10 So he is alive and well and thriving from a very dire serious situation. 11:14 Yes. 11:22 Because Dr. 11:23 B just doesn't do a little blood, just a surface. 11:29 He dives deep. 11:31 There's a whole reason it's deeper healing. 11:33 Dive deep, he changed my child's life. 11:41 That's the other thing. 11:42 Maturitary gland is a major gland. 11:44 It is running the systems. 11:46 All the hormones. 11:47 Yeah. 11:47 We're not even touching on what could have happened. 11:51 Right. 11:52 There could've been no grandchildren. 11:53 Not that we want them at 18, but he changed his life. 11:58 And that's difference between when you know, God gives moms that mother's instinct, there was something not right. 12:10 Dr. 12:10 B heard me and he didn't just brush me off. 12:14 He dug deep to find it, found the source, and we changed his life, changed the projection of his live. 12:20 Unbelievable. 12:21 It's an unbelievable story. 12:24 Wow. 12:26 So what now? 12:27 At 18, does he just randomly do that or is he kind of at a very stable place and is good? 12:33 He's at a very stable place. 12:35 Now we only have to do MRIs once every year because it has gotten so stable. 12:41 I think it's slightly shrinking now. 12:44 That was what it needed to get out of the macro into the regular size so that the medicine could help it slightly. 12:52 The body is just handling it and it is not replicating. 12:56 I mean, I always say this, my grandmother said this. 13:00 She said, you poke around too much, they're going to find stuff. 13:03 And sometimes I really think that that's true. 13:06 I think everybody has things, little weird things going on that the body's just handling. 13:11 Most people only find them when they are symptomatic. 13:15 they're symptomatic or they feel it or something weird happens or are they, you know. 13:19 So this is highly unusual. 13:21 I think most people with a tired 12 year old will just kind of yell at them and not, dig out a big, deep blood test to do for healing. 13:28 But since you had already kind understood what deeper healing did, your son had gone through it. 13:33 you had a lot of success and knew what was going on in here. 13:36 You're like, oh, you know what, let's get them in. 13:38 So it is kind of divine. 13:39 It's divine that you are already tuned in enough to do it. 13:45 I say it all the time, I'll say a thousand times, that blood panel that we do should be standard of care for everybody. 13:50 Once a year, everybody should just be able to look at the whole deal, what's going and their exposures one time. 13:57 But I think the metal stuff should done one-time.
Recovery, Follow-Up, and Takeaways 14:00 definitely for adults, because you may or may not have that problem, but knowing whether or not you do is absolutely game-changing for your longevity and 14:10 your mind. 14:10 Absolutely. 14:11 I think when you see so many moms just see I probably would have done that, I've got to be honest. 14:19 If I had a tired 12 year old, he'd be like, oh boy, hormones are kicking in. 14:22 Yeah. 14:23 And that's starting. 14:24 But because his brother and I have the thyroid, i just thought, Oh, we're going to have another thyroid case. 14:30 It wasn't. 14:31 I think about how any other doctor would just brushed me off. 14:35 A hundred percent. 14:37 This way we didn't have to wait until it became crisis. 14:41 He didn' t lose his vision. 14:46 Why did he get it? 14:47 I don't know, we don' know. 14:49 What's important is we know how to handle it. 14:51 It is so small now and every time, it's like we just know when we get done next December it'll just be shrunk even more. 14:59 You're amazing. 15:00 I'm so glad you shared that. 15:01 So for anybody out there, is there anything you would say? 15:04 There's a lot of people who've circled Deeper Healing. 15:06 We had an event here Saturday. 15:07 It was all moms of young kids. 15:09 And two of the moms were like, I have a very sick kid. 15:13 Well, they're like teens. 15:15 They were, like I've had like over four people tell me like you need to go to Deepers Healing and it's getting worse and worse. 15:21 and I was like what's holding you back? 15:23 Like I just curious. 15:25 And it's always money. 15:26 When I actually gave them, I was like, well, we're fully transparent about all the pricing. 15:29 Here's all of the price. 15:30 And they were like wait, i thought it was going to be a lot more expensive than that. 15:33 Like, why did you think that? 15:34 But like I don't even know. 15:35 She's like i don' know, where I got that from. 15:38 Our children's health is priceless. 15:40 And if you're lucky, and I say that, I'm sure every mom out there is like, absolutely. 15:45 The hard thing to know is so many of the kids are having severe anxiety or they're having just a lot. 15:51 It's hard to gauge sometimes. 15:53 Is this normal teenage stuff? 15:55 Or is there something bigger going on? 15:57 We're seeing a ton of neuroinflammation and a lot of brain stuff in kids. 16:02 I mean, not even like, tumorous things like that. 16:05 But I think that we have to recognize the pediatrician training is not this. 16:11 That's where you normally go. 16:12 You take your kid to the pediatrician. 16:14 They have no real training in chronic illness or, you know, weird hormonal things and things like that. 16:19 And that's what a lot of the teens are dealing with. 16:21 It's sort of hard to find that middle ground. 16:23 So that what's great about Deeper Healing. 16:24 We treat infants to 100, wide-ranging stuff. 16:29 and you don't have to be broken to come to Deepers Healing We are here to support you to stay well your whole life long. 16:36 we want people to live quality lives and then go play golf. 16:42 You know, that's what we want. 16:43 That's a success. 16:44 Success is we don't need to see you anymore. 16:46 I always think about doing a campaign called Never Be Our Patient. 16:49 And what does that mean? 16:49 That means making amazing decisions at home, which I know you're doing. 16:53 You're always doing the food, the water, and the house being clean. 16:57 you know? 16:57 You are doing things and teaching your kids. 17:00 and that is what all of us can do on the regular. 17:04 And all those resources are in the show notes. 17:06 And we love you, stay well, and I hope this story reaches somebody out there who's dealing with something similar. 17:13 Thanks, guys. 17:14 We hope that this episode inspired you. 17:16 Here's how to go deeper. 17:17 Visit deeperhealing.com to become a patient. 17:20 Online, we have loads of courses and a free toxin quiz. 17:23 Subscribe and please, please share this with someone who needs it. 17:28 It's always that one-on-one support that really gets people to find deeper healing. 17:40 Remember, this is educational content, not medical advice. 17:43 The information shared here should be discussed with your own personal healthcare provider. 17:48 If you're excited by listening to the medical experts or the personal recovery stories on here and you want to start your deeper healing journey, 17:56 go to deeperhealing.com and start the process.
