Addressing the hormone deficiency can actually improve how well these anemia treatments work. Then there is sarcopenia, the progressive loss of muscle mass and strength.
Kidney disease accelerates this and sarcopenia in CKD patients is associated with higher mortality and faster progression to end-stage disease. Low testosterone is one of the key drivers.
