Unpopular Opinion: I hate being pregnant
- Pregnancy can be physically traumatic and extremely uncomfortable. From Hyperemesis Gravidarum-level nausea to pelvic pain, incontinence, swelling, and joint instability, the hosts describe pregnancy as a months-long assault on the body — far from the glowing, blissful image often portrayed.
- Emotional distress, mood shifts, and disconnection are common — and normal. Hormonal changes, fear of miscarriage, depression-like symptoms, anxiety, and the inability to eat or function contributed to feeling disconnected from their pregnancies and, at times, from their babies.
- You are not alone — and you don’t have to love being pregnant to love your child. The hosts want women to know that hating pregnancy is valid, bonding may not happen immediately, and postpartum mental health support is essential and nothing to feel ashamed about.
