Hypertension

Hypertension, commonly known as high blood pressure, is a chronic medical condition characterized by elevated blood pressure levels within the arteries. It is a prevalent global health concern and often referred to as the "silent killer" due to its insidious nature. Hypertension can strain the heart and blood vessels, increasing the risk of serious health complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney problems, and even vision impairment if left untreated. While genetics can play a role, lifestyle factors such as an unhealthy diet high in sodium, physical inactivity, excessive alcohol consumption, and tobacco use are significant contributors to hypertension.
