Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic neurological disorder that affects the central nervous system (CNS). It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering of nerve fibers, called myelin, in the brain and spinal cord. This leads to communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body. Symptoms of MS can vary widely and may include fatigue, difficulty walking, numbness or weakness in limbs, vision problems, and coordination issues. While there is no cure for MS, various treatments and therapies are available to manage symptoms, slow down disease progression, and improve quality of life for individuals living with the condition.
